So question is book 6 mission three says in the special rukes you use reserves my buddy says you cant deepstrike only walk on reserves my argument is that deepstrike is a type of reserve deployment but not sure did seem kinda like you dont want your opponent just dropping in on your deployment zone in that mission but i could be wrong any answers for this would be cool

Mission special rules show reserves, buddy says deep strike isnt allowed unless showed in mission rules. My argument: deep strike is a form of reserves and is perfectly acceptable to use via the reserves rules and that jet pack units can deep strike.

Whos right? The mission in question is in book 6 mission 3 shatter strike.

Good enough clarification for qiestion now?

The Shatter Strike mission is in The Horus Heresy V: Tempest. Mission 3 in The Horus Heresy VI: Retribution is "Denial," but we can press forward based on the mission special rules you've described (luckily, that mission, too, had the Reserves special rule without Deep Strike, so it works fine in setting up the question msn-wink.gif ).

I'd check pages 135 and 162 of the Warhammer 40,000 Rules.

The Deep Strike special rule modifies how a unit arrives on the table when it is held in Reserve. As long as the mission has the Reserves special rule and doesn't have special rules prohibiting deep striking (such as in Zone Mortalis), you are correct.
