Tygwyn
So brothers, I am looking at kitting out some magnetised ICs and have a Jump Chaplain that I want to give the Monster Slayer of Caliban as an option (partly because it's a good points hauler for ETL, partly because I want the range of options in there). The question is simple - what have you used (or would use if it was worth the points) to count as a Monster Slayer? march10k
I've never used the monster slayer, just the mace...is it a sword? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/321032-monster-slayer-of-caliban/#findComment-4352658 Share on other sites
Tygwyn
Is is loose on that in the codex, but it has a 'sharp blade' if I recall correctly. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/321032-monster-slayer-of-caliban/#findComment-4352659 Share on other sites
Ania Redfang
A Corvus Hammer? Or the Blade of Caliban bit? Maybe one of the swords from the Ravenwing box? Brother Syddraf
How about the power sword from the deathwing kit, the one pointed down with the rested hand. It is huge compared to other sword, a true monster Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/321032-monster-slayer-of-caliban/#findComment-4352700 Share on other sites
Dantay VI
Nah, go with an extended grip and a sword blade at each end, like a dual light saber Either that or a short spear which can be thrust into the soft underbelly of the offending monster as it towers over the marine, then is gutted like s a fish Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/321032-monster-slayer-of-caliban/#findComment-4352758 Share on other sites
SnakeChisler
One of the boxes has a big sword think it's the Ravenwing one Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/321032-monster-slayer-of-caliban/#findComment-4352908 Share on other sites

march10k
how about one of the zweihander from the WHFB greatswords? Totally passes as calibanite, as opposed to imperial. Syphid
Currently I am using the Power Sword from the Dark Angels upgrade sprue. It's one handed, ornate, and there aren't any other swords like it in my army. dalleron
Any ornate-ish power sword should do the trick. The blurb on the sword and its rules denote it being one handed. So there you go. Liberame
The power sword from the death watch dark angel marine. It even says Caliban on it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/321032-monster-slayer-of-caliban/#findComment-4353200 Share on other sites
Gosford
Currently I am using the Power Sword from the Dark Angels upgrade sprue. It's one handed, ornate, and there aren't any other swords like it in my army. I concur. I think it's a solid representation. Cactus
how about one of the zweihander from the WHFB greatswords? Totally passes as calibanite, as opposed to imperial. There's a zweihander in the old Empire militia / free company / Mordheim warband kit that would totally work. I know this because I spent most of the weekend reorganising my bits boxes.
