Deflagrate Wording Clarification

I came across a slight rule that we couldn't quite decide upon at the local club and i just wanted to get other peoples opinions of its wording.

Context: Firing a Volkite Carronade at some marines

so as this is a LOW AP Weapon are the additional hits resolved at the same AP as this is implied when it says automatic hits using the same weapons profile but then seems the same rule contradicts itself when it says these can be saved normally.

I think this comes down to does "normally" mean the normal 3+ marine save or normally meaning if you would of had a save available against the original weapons AP profile in the first place.

I think you get your saving throw as normal unless the weapon's profile removes it, i.e. "best possible save"

The balance is in the number of shots, and the fact that Deflagrate cannot spawn wounds from spawned wounds. So the Carronade is S8 AP2 Ignores cover, 1 shot. Meaning two dead terminators.

So, yes, I believe the spawned wound uses the same profile as the trigger wound. The wording simply means "if you can save it, you may attempt to".

I'm pretty sure "normally" simply means you follow the normal rules.

Does an AP3 weapon allow saves? Yes, if you have a 2+ save. It also allows cover saves unless it's a template weapon or has some special rule that says otherwise.

So a deflagrate wound hits with the same AP value as the original and allows saves "normally"; that is, in exactly the same way as the original wound allowed.
