Alternative Fulgrim head

Recommended Posts

So, I want to include Fulgrim in my army, but I really don't like the model's head.

Any suggestions?  I'm thinking maybe a Phoenix terminator's head with a crest or topknot of some sort, are these big enough?  The other idea is an EC Contemptor head, but this would be very expensive...  Does anyone have one of these that they don't want???

Any other ideas?  Either helmeted or bare is fine.

If the Contemptor head fits - get an EC Contemptor and the havoc launcher upgrade set - that one has a new head with bionic eye :)

I also hate his face on that model. There is artwork of him in a HH book in the same pose where his face looks SOOO much better but the models face looks just ugly. Hate the sword too, wish he had a modeling option for Fireblade. I think that's what it's called.

Here is a picture of one done ons commission.

I have seen somewhere a conversion like this completed using a maximini head:

With high elf prince wings attached.

This is true to fluff and I always mean to get round to it!

Hope that's helpful for you.

Thanks heaps for the replies!

Having a look and the model, a regular marines helmet looks too small, does anyone have the Fulgrim model & Phoenix teminators to compare their head sizes?  What about the contemptor's?  The Leviathon's look maybe a touch too big, but could be made to fit... It's very boring though.

That conversion looks very nice & simple Theredknight, the size looks about right too.  At the moment that's "Plan A" consider it stolen!

Does anyone have any ideas for a bare head?  I also don't really like Corax's...  & it would be crazy expensive!

Thanks heaps!

Oh, I'll also be changing the sword... at the moment, I'm going to use the the one from the Sanguinary guard.  Probably the double hand one (bottom left)...

Any other suggestions for a cool sword?

I actually emailed the painter for you he replied thankfully and says the wings are for the gryphon rider. Credit goes to those guys with the skills!

Thanks very much for all your help!

Any ideas for a bare-head alt?  What about other thoughts for a Fire-blade?

This one is from Brother Dello, using the sword on the left, I'd prefer something double-bladed though...

You could check the scibor range. The heads there are normally primarch size or tend to ne bigger. You could pressmold the face amd model the back of the head and then the hair. Or you try to cut the Head out. The roman general has a switchable head, but it is bare-headed.
