Silk
Hello guys, again I need your Advice. Finally after I decided for an Legion ( Raven Guard ^^ ) I am now looking what fits in, what Models I like ( the look ) and what I want to play. So now, I am able to get cheap from a friend of mine a Unit of Tartaros terms, which I would like to play with my Raven Guard. But here I get the Problem, how should I play them? If i want to bring them in GameI think I have three options: Spartan ( not really fluffy -.- ) Anvillus Pattern Dreadclaw Darkwing Pattern Storm Eagle ( point heavy -.- ) So guys ingame what do you think would fit in best for the Tartaros pattern Terminators, and additionally, with what loadout do you play them? GreyCrow
It really depends what you intend to do with them ;) Are they supposed to be a distraction unit to flush the enemy out while you move the rest of the force ? Are they a targeted assault unit ? What I like about the Darkwing is its ability to wait for the proper moment to unleash the Terminators after you watched the battle develop and know where it's best to send them. You can Deep Strike, Outflank, etc which are all pretty cool ! The Pod is good but it kind of forces them on the board Turn 1, so any opponent will just have a defensive stance until they're on the board, then deal with them. While the Darkwing allows more survivability and original angles of approach. Athrawes
The pod is great for termies, but you need to be aware that it does not have inertial guidance like other drop pods and the Kharybdis. That means it can scatter into units and terrain and cause mishaps, which dues to the size of the model means placement is very tricky. The nice part is that you can find a location on the board that is relatively clear of terrain to deepstrike, then make a 18" flat out move that turn to put it in position for a turn 2 charge by your passengers. If you don't want to risk the mishaps though, I'd pair it with a Damocles command Rhino, for the no scatter deepstrike within 24", plus the tank will help you with reserve rolls, and you get a str 8, Large blast, rerollable Lance strike. Silk
Heyho guys :) Thank you I plan to play them with the Decipation Strike RoW from the Raven Guard does it then scatter too? Although I plan to play it in a list where are already 3 Drop Pods ( 1 Tactical, 1 Leviathan and 1 Cortus Class Contemptor) So do you think the Stormeagle could be better because of the drop pod assault rule? About the Terms, I would like to play them as a fighting unit , dropping at the enemy and then lets go.....
