yaan
Hi all, Firstly, thanks to the admin for adding me, it's very much appreciated :) Me and my son are new to Warhammer 40K so, as he's 7, I'm trying to learn the rules, work out army lists etc so I can help him learn too So far I've grabbed a 7th ed rule book and we've got a basic army going with some generic(ish) space marines and some chaos to fight with. I'm looking forward to looking through B & C to help boost my "knowledge" and chat to other players :) Cheers, Ian

WarriorFish
Welcome aboard yaan! I started when I was about your son's age many moons ago so he's more than ready to get into the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium Always keep one of your first models so you can see how far you've come over the years
yaan
Hi all, Thanks, I'm really enjoying the bits I know, and the painting :) I'm still trying to wrap my head around playing he game itself at the moment. The problem is getting chance to play, especially with people who know what they're doing. Thinking I might try book into my local GW with my little 'un for a lesson or 2 until I feel confident enough to not be constantly referring to the rule book(s), hopefully by that point my games might go a bit quicker too ;)
WarriorFish
GW will give you intro games to get your feet wet and you can never go wrong flicking through the rulebook :)

ZedKey
Hi Yaan I found watching some battle reports (batreps) on youtube useful when learning. Some are short versions (summaries at the end of turns). Some are full versions (down to the dice rolling). Miniwargaming are the best for learners in my opinion because they generally explain stuff, but there are plenty of people producing them. Cheers.
