I had a lr promethius that I painted white black inverted to all my other vehicles.

It is spmewhere in the warp/attic/my brothers house so I cant photoproof it. But a nice idea. Ive been personalising my etl vow termis and it looks nicer. Visually more attractive then just black.

Thought you all might enjoy this action shot from a game that I had against GSC. Draw on points but I would have probably tabled him, if it had gone to turn 7.

Scouts did not survive...

Hey all. Just a quick WIP update on some things I’ve been working on. This guy will be the sergeant for a white armoured Primaris Vet squad that I’m doing.

Also the first time using Contrast paints, which wasn’t as easy as I was expecting. It needs to be applied in a very specific way and each colour behaves differently. The great thing is that scrolls and purity seals a now ridiculously easy. Blood Angels red for the seal and bone/ skeleton one for the parchment. Done in about 10 seconds (not including writing)

More to come including Celestial Lions

Anything John Blanche does is ok with me. I thought about making my special/heavy weapons guys white to match his painting, but I found it too hard to pull off. This model is done really well! Nice work!

Are you freehanding those crosses? They're really sharp!

I wish! All decals. I’ve worked out over the years how to make them look more like part of the model and less fake.

Combination of micro set and varnish.

Thanks. No he is still very much a Black Templar just his squad is in white (mainly for my hobby sanity!)

I love that kind. Could be a special thing like he have to repent something and that doesnt allows him to wear the color of the emperor. Or he wants to give the reputation of a fallen brother back - or anything like that.

My old models have a lot of brothers in robes (dark Angels) as they use heavy weapons as a punishment - but I stopped that project because of the primaris

I really like the weathering. Very subtle and realistic.

How did you do that? Weathering powders?

Where did tbe heraldic shields come from?

They look to be Grey Knight Paladin parts.

Hey thanks. It’s oil wash in the cracks and crevices. A technique that I think is great but comes with a little bit of extra effort because it involves white mineral spirits and oil paint. Lots of YouTube videos on oil washes, it’s a technique that realistic scale modellers use a lot.

Yep. Weathering on the lower legs is weathering powder with a Matt varnish over everything to hold it in place. The dust weathering actually looks really good on white armour but my phone camera doesn’t quite capture it.

Absolutely correct.

I recognised them immediately - they're scattered throughout my crusade too.

Hello Templars,

This is just a quick post to show off the newest member of my Crusade. Well technically the oldest member as he has been Crusading for a very, very long time!

This was an early Christmas present to myself, I designed the livery and paint scheme and the painting was completed by an excellent commission painter I use occasionally. It also won gold in a local European painting competition.

I do have the other weapon but for display purposes I use the damaged one.

Sobering reminded on far, very very far, I have to go with my own knights. Crikey

What's your secret behind the rust effects?

I wish I painted this but I commissioned it. This is the work of a professional painter, not my own, so don’t feel so bad! Not many people have this skill set.

Rust effects he uses are a combination of oil paints, weathering powders and specialist products from AK Interactive.
