Bryan Blaire
Maybe next codex we'll get the love this Codex gave the Ravenwing. Deathwing Knights are fantastic, but in 10,000 years+ you would thing our Techmarines would have had to improvise for some situations. Things like fast, scout terminators, heavy support (Terminator Devastators anyone?), teleporting Land Raiders (has anyone figured out how we can take them with our Deathwing?). Dispite the anti-tech Imperium, Techmarines have been known to improvise. (See Razorbacks, Vindicators, etc) GW drew up concepts for this back in 2003-2005 when brainstorming new Space Marine units and weapons. Unfortunately none of them became anything. http://i.imgur.com/UvJ8SGD.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/QiFdl7h.jpg Yes that's a plasma blaster on the bottom guy, or rather a plasma blaster before they were a thing. Captain Invictus of the Ultramarines had a Plasma Blaster (a "storm plasma gun") back in the Ultramarines 2nd Edition Codex. That was earlier than 2003-2005, so they were already a thing... Also, if you look at it, the "heavy Terminator" on the right of the top image looks very much like a hybrid of a Contemtor Dread and a Centurion (hell, that twin fingered mitten with Bolter on the bottom is a dead ringer), and the description of heavier armor to the front with more exposed cables to the rear... Definitely Centurion inspiration. No one can say that they hadn't thought this stuff through before it was produced, it just took different final forms in the fluff and execution. I'd beg/borrow/steal/murder for that terminator chaplain.
