Trevak Dal
Hey all, I was thinking about disassbling my heldrake and magnetizing it so that I could easily transport it, and was curious if anybody has done that. Dagoth Ur
Well, not on the same miniature, but super-glue bonds weaken if they are cooled. Pop the drake in your freezer for half an hour-hour and you should be able to gently and carefully break it back up into pieces. Bloody Legionnaire
Super glue doesn't bond the plastic together like plastic glue does. It shouldn't come apart too terribly bad. Try using a brand new blades along the seems to see if that helps? GalaxyChief
I will second the freezer technique. Also maybe try some super glue debonder. Acetone will work as well. Apply it with a brush to exactly where you need it and let it soften the superglue up. Trevak Dal
I'll try chucking the turkey in the freezer overnight while I go to work tonight! Kastor Krieg
Also, CA glue debonders and needles, especially on syringes. Turn CA glue into goo. Trevak Dal
Yeah I'd let it sit in there an extra day. While I couldn't get the front talons out of that ball socket they glue onto in the torso, I was able to pop the forewings off with a tiny screw driver (the most offending bits for storage) and I think I can seat magnets in the fore arm with a paperclip guide post on each end of it (one on the wing, one on the arm for strength and stability) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/321524-disassembling-a-super-glued-heldrake/#findComment-4370873 Share on other sites
