Land Raider Sponsons

Hey,

 

i'm planning to buy a redeemer for 40k, but i am looking at the option to have it magnetized so it can serve in 30k as a Phobos pattern. When looking at the pics on the GW website, it looks like the inner and outer side of the sponson both hold a single lascannon. That lascannon also looks a lot like the lascannon you get on the Razorback TL lascannon turret. Do you think that if i use 4 spare Razorback lascannons, i can make 2 lascannon sponsons for a Redeemer kit? (Interchanging it with the tank and flamestorm cannon on the Redeemer)

 

Likewise, i would need to convert/magnetize the assault cannon/heavy bolter, but i expect less difficulty with that.

Razorback lascannons have incomplete power cabling (since it's covered up by the Razorback's chassis).

 

If you're willing to work around that, it probably is fine (the barrels are a tad shorter than proper Land Raider lascannons).

Also no need to magnetize the asscan. Just swap out a razorback HB turrett.

Assuming you need to buy the kits and bits, why not just buy the basic land raider and the redeemer upgrade sprue? It should be cheaper and easier than trying to make something from razorback bits, and the way the lascannons and flamers are mounted is different anyway, so might as well magnetize the whole sponson IMO.
