Salamanders Novels - Storm Giants mention?

Hoping somebody out there can help me - I have no access to any of these, but have seen it mentioned that in one or more of the Salamander novels (the ones from a good few years back now, I believe?) the Storm Giants are mentioned. Specifically, some allusion as to their genetic heritage is made, and supposedly pretty much confirms the idea that they are indeed Sally-successors. So my question is, can any fans of these novels recall this mention, or be able to dig this out?

I would be eternally grateful; it will actually have a direct impact on the modelling side of the hobby that I am finally returning to now after over a decade. I'd like not to have to buy and read the whole series to find this if possible, lol.

I'm only finding one reference to the Storm Giants - Nihilan addressing the members of his Glaive - and that just names the Space Marine chapters each Glaive member belonged to before turning to Chaos.

“We may come from differing heritage, the Chapters that spurned us, that constricted and took our love and loyalty for granted. Storm Giant, Black Dragon, Iron Warrior, Marine Malevolent…” He paused before the last of the names, spitting it out as if it left a canker in his mouth. “…Salamander. These honorifics mean nothing to us. Now we are one. Dragon Warriors, all.”

Firedrake, Chapter Two, Section I: Gathering Strength

Iron Warriors are a chapter?

Iron Warriors are a chapter?

Nihilan would more likely in his short propagandising to say "Chapters" than "four Chapters and one Legion".

Then again, considering what happened to poor George, it could very well have been a writing/editing slip up, someone putting 'Warrior' where they meant to put 'Hand'.

Nick Kyme's writing falls flat to me

It depends on the characters for me. I really like his supporting characters who always seem to be stronger, especially Elysius. That part where he pasted an Eldar Wych with one arm and a Crozius powered by a miracle was fantastic. But his main characters are really, really flat and uninteresting.

How very strange. It's rare that 40k literature inspires me so much but that quote alone will make me buy this book. (Albeit 2010)

I've never been a massive fan of Nick Kyme. I'm currently painstakingly ploughing through Deathfire. But that intrigues me.

Saa........

......or something like that

It's not info on Storm Giants, but Angels of Death updated the question of the Salamanders' successor chapters.

The Salamanders are also peculiar for having very few documented successor Chapters, unlike most of the First Founding Space Marines.

~ page 39, Warriors of Nocturne

They could actually be from another primarch's geneline like a certain Imperial Fists successor chapter, but Salamanders now do have official successors.

Very much appreciate this, I still check in on the threads I've made re: the Storm Giants now and again in what usually seems like almost certain futility; you can imagine my surprise in actually seeing a response in one of them for once!

While it's not direct info, it's useful all the same - again, thank you :)
