MakoBoy88
Hi. I have been using my IF now for about 3 months and am loving them. And specifically I am loving Polux. I love his rules, and I love his model and I love how much of a trademark of my games he is to my local competitors. But there are a couple of things I would like clarifying with him from a fluff and rules point of view. In Book 3, there are Colour Plates of Astartes he went into battle with at Phall and obviously we know he is captain of the 405th. But Post Pharos (Which I am waiting to be delivered) what happens to him? Does he ever end up leading another detachment of Fists, does he go straight to Crimzon Fists? Also, i would quite like to settle into a focused core of an army that I imagine Polix leads. A core I plan to use as a minimum in all my narrative led games. In Book 3 he teleports with some Breachers (obviously) and some Terminators. So would people say Stone Gauntlet or Hammerfall would sum Polux up better? Because depending on if it's Stone Gauntlet or Hammerfall will depend on which core units I bring game in game out. Sorry for the fan boy esque rant about it, just think it's a cool way to theme an army Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/321718-alexis-polux-what-a-lad/ Share on other sites
Leman Russ SW
Stone Gauntlet doesn't allow you to deep strike so from a fluff point of view not idea. On the table top though it its very good and you have to take breachers which is fluffy. MakoBoy88
Yeah I take stone gauntlet at the minute, and he leads his terminators from a Spartan. It's medium powerful. T5 sounds good but really it isn't all that, maybe it's just my meta but it hardly comes into it enough to make me wonder about other RoW. Whereas Hammerfall is very fluffy, but would probably make me think twice about Breachers. Lord Blackwood
At the end of Pharos he is still in the realm of ultramar leading a very small contingent of imperial fists and mourning the death of someone close to him. He won't lead the Crimson fists until the end of the hours heresy when the legion is split into three. Lord Blackwood
I would say gauntlet the teleportation thing was a last ditch effort. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/321718-alexis-polux-what-a-lad/#findComment-4373264 Share on other sites
Slips
The Teleportation thing, per its fluff, is actually when they're launching an Attack from the Phalanx onto Somewhere via massed Teleportation and rapid insertion.
