Jonny Roxtar Posted April 26, 2016 Share Posted April 26, 2016 This year i have been busy and on a mission to paint stuff that has been lying around. There cant be too much really... So by my reckoning theres around a company of ultras, half a company of Angels Sanguine a small (but growing set of Dark angels and a bunch of Space wolf terminators. The Plan. The reason theres so many Ultras is my son and myself pooled our resources and just threw it all together.We have around a company of unadorned marines so we just needed a chapter. Initially it was going to be imperial fists but the ultras seemed a quicker option. In reality this doesnt appear to be the case and they take longer than fists but im commited now so Ultras it is.( i bought some upgrade sets and razorbacks with forgewolrd doors) The Dark angels are quickly becoming a mostly ravenwing force but with the terminators and tacticals from the DV set. The Wolves were an old old attempt at a drop pod terminator army of doom which GW borked by not allowing Terminators use of Drop pods in the new codex. FU very much GW. So will slowly grow to a semi normal army of sorts. The Angels Sanguine are my babies and i love the colour scheme the secretive nature and GW nailed the BA sets so they will progress as a form of treat for painting blocks of Ultras.The following pictures are elsewhere and scattered so i will consolidate everything here as a main Imperial Blog(minus the Inquisition/Skitarii force im building too). The Death company with Jump packs will be using the Black Templars Tabbard bodies for a little more ease of movementand still keep a sullen knight errant look. The way im doing them is changing soon , but these ones were sprayed black, then i finished the red and in the assault marines case the yellow bits too on the helmet. Finish it ll to completion highlights the lot then with a steady hand do the black side. the only really nerve wracking bit is the helmet since the rest is fairly broken up down the centreline with decoration. I get sidetracked really easily and end up posting in the relevant chapter forums rather than here where it should be. Whats happened in a year? Well i got a ton of Ultras finished damn near the whole company. I started some Skitarii, i changed the paint scheme for the Angels Sanguine and renamed them cos i wanted to paint faces.... (dont hate me). bought a load of Deathwatch and started some of those then left them undone cos i have the attention span of a goldfish. and started 3 xenos armies, but we wont talk of them here. If anyone is interested i can repost here. Dark Angels and Space wolves there are no real progress here, i have built a few but no painting done.
