Sisters of Battle Weapons and Equipment

Recommended Posts

So some may recall that I am a big fan of over thinking the setting (like my way too in-depth look into finding a plausible number of Sisters for the Imperium) and once again I've been mulling over some things and I have to wonder if I just missed something in the lore somewhere. To cut a long rambling paragraph short: where does the Ministorum get its weapons and equipment?

I mean we know a lot of it is far from standard (Sororitas Power Armor, Neural Whips, Eviscerators, ect) so is it just made by Forge Worlds or does the Ministorum have a few factory worlds (places similar to Vostroya) under their thumb to churn out what they need?

Personally I'm keen on the factory world idea as they tend to be greedy jerks who don't want to share their toys but I had to get some other opinions and pick brains on the lore to get an idea on it.

The official line is that the Ecclesiarchy's vast wealth is what secures them their superior equipment.

Seeing as their wealth includes: people, tithes (money and others), planets and likely their own ships that hardly narrows it down. :P

There's probably some factory complex on some forgeworld somewhere that produces the sisters' stuff. It's kinda neet to think that there's a cogboy out there somewhere who solely produces equipment for the Adepta Sororitas. I have this image of a magos with a Fleur on his chest/forehead. Maybe there's a short story in there somewhere . . .

There definitely could be one. Factory Worlds are just a step below Forge Worlds (no real research stations there) which ia why I went there, but we do know there are those who are faithful to the idea of the Emperor being a true god too.

I didn't know factory worlds where a thing. Weird.

Magos Zantrous of the Forge World Hellektus rose from his clockwork throne to greet the strangers . . .

A little of both, maybe.  The Mechanicum would want all production under their control, of course, and would be maneuvering to bring that about.  But I imagine that factory worlds owned by Marines and Sisters would be able to resist that, (after all, do you really want to piss them off?).  Planets like Vostroya and others would have a slightly harder time politically, not having a heavily armed, politically powerful, Imperium spanning Big Brother or Big Sister to help protect them, but that would just underline how good they are at Imperial politics.  The ability to fend off a larger, more powerful organization, is truly impressive.  I imagine that diplomats and negotiators from those planets could be in high demand.  After all, if you can fend off the Mechanicum without being invaded or destroyed, trade deals would be a cinch.:)
