Tactical terminator plus HQ question

Recommended Posts

I've built up a 10 man IF termi squad- all CHOOM armed, 1 assault cannon, 1 plasma blaster, 2 vigil shields, 2 PF, 1 LC, 1 hammer, 2 axes and I am wanting to run them with a PM in termi armor with a shield and Sigismund in a Spartan.

Super expensive unit for sure but will be able to decimate anything they come into contact with- AI and AV.

Is there anything else to add to this unit?

I will be the first to condone all-Volkite Terminators. They may not have the punch a Combi-Weapon does (only once), but they will melt squads due to quantity of Volkite shots alone. I would echo the need for at least one Chain Fist, however. Couldn't comment on the Special Weapons, though, since I don't have access to them and have never played against the VIIth.

I suggested the combis purely because he said if he could add anything else happy.png. What should be also considered is if it is worth to upgrade all those special range weapons if they're gonna be in a spartan and rushing to melee (which they should totally do as Sigismund will be attached), as he'll be paying for them and then use it 1-2 times in a game, the other turns they should be busy bashing heads or already dead. Obviously, rule of cool demands everyone being bristling with all kind of weapons and upgrades cool.png, but that's up to him.

Rule of kool and choom has been deftly applied and the choominators shall deflagrate for a turn or 2 until they kick butt with sigi in CC.

Slips, I love the plasma blaster and know it's not synergistic to have the asscannon mixed with it but I am thinking fluff wise the asscannon is still a prototype model and would not have been in wide dispersion through the VIIth.

Also, I do have a chainfist guy in there already- sorry I didn't note the setup properly. Do y'all think 2 chainfists would be better??

Also, I will be running a combiplas seeker squad to run the 1-2 punch against what the Spartan faces.

I'll add the second chainfist to the squad and will strive to remember combat synergies against AFVs and TEQ.

Im excited about the Spartan in my list and am looking at either a drop list or rhino squads for mobility and tactics versatility.

I will also have a Cortus CC dread in a pod to get in the face of whatever is the biggest threat to the Spartan as well as a Deredero with ACs to walk with it. I'm thinking about a tac rhino squad to follow behind it as an exploitation/rear guard squad.

I understand, man. I've seen the power of Volkite with Terminators, and while it ultimately comes down to the dice, they can put the hurtin down. I usually use Reaper AutoCannons with my Volkite Terminators, just to try and remedy the range deficiency a bit, although I also use Heavy Flamers, but that's more preference for the XIVth's buff to them. I never take Plasma Blasters, so I can't comment on those... they just seem lackluster IMO.
