Slips
...I love boxy Dreads :-( More power to you then. Because I look at my 2 Plastic Box dreads (the resin Mk IV and Chaplain dreads Ive got arent as derpy) and feel nothing but slight disappointment when compared to their Larger Cousins. Ishagu
It's a classic Design :-P I never said I don't like Contemptors more. I still think they're overpriced. A Contemptor should be 125 points, and a regular Dread 85 lol. Knight of the Raven
I've not assaulted enough vehicles to notice the change to krak grenades. But who runs box dreads in 30k?! Raktra
They're the better troops choice if you like March of the Ancients, at least to me, because of the cost. More robotz, more happy. Brofist
I'm perplexed at defending the FAQ ruling for melta bombs when it clearly goes against the design intent of our system. defl0
I kinda hope they go the other direction. Grenades. If you got em, throw them! Always seemed dumb everyone couldn't throw them. shandwen
10 dudes with kraks will kill a dread in one round? Averages gives you one glance...I've had it happen... even if it is unlikely. I do see tac squads drop rhinos and preds frequently like that though. Ishagu
The Vorax argument is a very compelling one. If this change sticks I'll probably focus on them instead of Castellax! Galron
Melta Bombs are not grenades. You cannot throw them. They are not pertinent to the nerf on grenades. Intent is also that everyone throws them which is why on those squads that allow it, you buy for each guy. The silliness about redundant usage means you are paying 25-50 points on a one shot melta weapon, that you first have to get into hand to hand and then have a chance at missing for one shot. My group and I will be using common sense on this one, they wont be thrown since they are not grenades but when everyone swarms a vehicle, everyone gets a shot. Brofist
Agreed with Charlo. Nice buff to Vorax. A 20 man tactical squad stood a good chance to taking out ~ a vorax each turn. Now they're basically dead meat if they get charged and you don't even need I5. Marshal Rohr
The answer is simple. A comparison of plastic melta bombs and resin melta bombs clearly shows the resin melta bombs (30k melta bombs) to be far more compact, thus useable by every model equipped with one while the plastic melta bombs (40k) are much larger and thus realistically only deployed by a single model. I've solved it, so you guys can talk about something else now. Lord Blackwood
I am looking forward to future zone mortalis games with my leviathan talon murdering everything in sight and only having to roll 1 4+ against the single meltabomb that breacher squad chose to use. Soooo what we should do, as it's a first draft, is send geedub a nice little email and ask them to clarify the position of meltabombs Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322081-40k-faq-30k-and-you-ooh-that-rhymed-a-bit/page/3/#findComment-4391310 Share on other sites

Galron
Infiltration question with the new FAQ draft(at work so I cant read it)-(ducks thrown objects- A Vigilator has infiltration(or Outflank), does he confer this onto say a vet squad that didn't take that as a skill? I know it doesn't work the other way around.
