Plaguecaster
Hey pretty much after many Smoko breaks at work just playing around with the battlescribe app I came up with a Iron Hands list and was just looking for feedback, made using battlescribe so apologize if some stuff wrong/ not legal Legion: Iron Hands Allegiance: Traitor HQ Forgelord 155pts Power axe, Boarding Shield, Cyber Familiar, Cortex Controller, Rad Grenades, Augury Scanner Herald 150pts Rite of command (Head of the Gorgon), Cyber familiar, Artificeir armour, refractor field, Thunder hammer Elites Elites 3 Arlatax Battle Class Automata 525pts Apothecarion Detachment 135pts 3 Apothecary Contemptor Cortus Dreadnought 165pts Kheres assault cannon, Graviton gun Contemptor Cortus Dreadnought 165pts Kheres assault cannon, Graviton gun Troops 14 Breacher Siege marines 295pts 2 meltaguns 14 legion Tactical Marines 233pts Extra close combat weapons, Sergeant with powerfist 14 legion Tactical Marines 233pts Extra close combat weapons, Sergeant with powerfist Heavy Support Deredero Dreadnought 220pts Aiolos missile launcher Deredero Dreadnought 220pts Aiolos missile launcher What do you think more a fan of infantry plus the head of he gorgon lets me take Arlatax which seem so awesome. Went Traitor Allegiance more for fluff reason as well as the chance to chaosify them modelwise though the loyalist herald making the breachers WS5 would be cool Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322156-2500-iron-hands/ Share on other sites
Trydragon
The Main thing that Sticks out to me is the lack of Long range AT, My suggestion is too drop one of the Contemptors and add in a couple of Rapiers with Laser Distoryers or Gravaton Cannons, or one of the Deredero for a Scarian Venator, or do both give you that bit of High Str low AP fire power. Lord Asvaldir
Unfortunately heralds don't unlock Rites of War, you need a preator or a delegatus for that. Simple fix, I'd just drop the herald for the delegatus. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322156-2500-iron-hands/#findComment-4386762 Share on other sites
Luna707
*gasp* traitor hands!?? The heresy is overwhelming!! Why did you go with a Herald? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322156-2500-iron-hands/#findComment-4386922 Share on other sites
Caillum
Unfortunately heralds don't unlock Rites of War, you need a preator or a delegatus for that. Luna707
Question, can you run the arlatax with a praevian? If you can, you could make them inviolate which I think would be more valuable than a herald Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322156-2500-iron-hands/#findComment-4387127 Share on other sites
Plaguecaster
Nope Arlatax can only be taken through the head of the Gorgon Rite of war (since they are battle automata), Praevian can only take vorax or castellax and the automata ROW is the same but also with Domitar available. Herald is mainly there so I can take use his Rite of Command to take the Head of the Gorgon without taking a praetor, plus it's also more a fluffy choice since being Traitors I can have the the eye of Horus on his banner to show their true allegiance :D after all Iron Hands are the only loyalist legion I like but I deep down I support the Warmaster Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322156-2500-iron-hands/#findComment-4387343 Share on other sites
Lord Asvaldir
Unfortunately heralds don't unlock Rites of War, you need a preator or a delegatus for that. I stand corrected. Interesting that they unlock RoWs, but are can't be your compulsory HQ. Caillum
Yeah, it sure is. He must be the Warlord, he can take a RoW, but he's a Support Officer (so you need another HQ). Basically it confirms that you can have a MotL in the army to unlock Rites of War, but a non-MotL HQ can be the Warlord. The FAQ suggested this, so yay for Morturg Missile with the Reaping! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322156-2500-iron-hands/#findComment-4387598 Share on other sites
