Hrax
....well not actually Stonehenge but that is the closest thing to me that anybody ever knows about. So I'm a mid thirties dad of 4 boys who has been out of the wargaming scene since the start of 4th edition 40k. Having given up my job to go to university full time I've found myself with a lot of spare time and the urge to interest my boys in something other than Minecraft. My friend introduced me to MWG's youtube videos about 6 weeks back, initially I thought "Why would anyone want to watch other people playing 40k" however thirty odd batreps later here I am subbed to the vault and looking into buying a new army.Back in the day I played Blood Angels, Guard and Necrons but having been hooked on the Path to Glory videos I'm looking at doing something a little different this time around. Basically what I plan on doing (with my buddy) is to run an Inquisitorial Path to Glory campaign, we're currently working on modifying the PtG rules to work with an Inquisitor as the warlord. We're working on balancing the follower tables, replacing the chaos units from the official supplement with units from Codex: Space Marines, Codex: Astra Militarum and Codex: Grey Knights. We had toyed with the idea of having the Chaos God specific units (Berserkers, Noise Marines etc) replaced with Ordo specific units but we wanted to roll our units totally randomly and neither of us wanted to have to buy Space Nuns.I think our biggest headache so far is deciding on what our equivalent will be for the Daemon Prince conversion at 10 favour points. Any suggestions?Building our armies this way means we can collect the armies at our own pace and at the end of the campaign, thanks to the fantastic ally rules we can have fully 40k legal armies with very little extra effort. Sure a Marine/Guard/GK/Inquisitor allied army may not be the most competitive (or maybe it is?) but neither of us really care, we play for the narrative side of the game. Thanks for reading my wall of text, see y'all around.H Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322165-greetings-from-stonehenge/ Share on other sites
WarriorFish
Welcome back to the hobby and to the B&C Hrax :tu: I look forward to seeing your armies take form down in the barracks and shadowy halls of the Inquisition section ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322165-greetings-from-stonehenge/#findComment-4386695 Share on other sites

Jolemai
Always good to see an old Blood Angels player We can be found here if you fancy looking around and getting some of that nostalgia going; certainly many of us have collections dating back over twenty years! Xenith
Welcome back to the fold! I think our biggest headache so far is deciding on what our equivalent will be for the Daemon Prince conversion at 10 favour points. Any suggestions? This seems obvious: Inquisitor mortally wounded, interred into a dreadnought.
