MakoBoy88
Afternoon. So on this glorious summery day I am thinking of putting together a Knight Errant for my Fist army. Probably/ definitely going to make him an Apothecary or a Librarian as I don't see much point it having one without one of These skills. If I go Apothecary he will be with Polux and the plan would be to keep him alive. If he is a Libby it may well be to sit on an objective at the back or hope someone kills the Primarch haha. But, I can find very little detail save the pics of Garrow and Rubio about their armour. MK7 by this point for them? Aquila? Would Libby still have horned shoulder pad? Would a Doc still have his White trim bit of armour? Any thoughts? Fenbain
Pretty sure the armour is artificer MKVI. As far as the horned shoulder pad for the librarian goes, I don't think they would have one as the armour was described as relatively unadorned. They would have a psychic hood though. Dizzyeye01
Within the books, it's been described that the KE wear plain grey armour which is a proto-type version of the Mk 6. I'm not sure if they wear the aquila but we know Garro does as he was honoured with it but he may be the exception to the rule. With the librarian part I believe they'd still wear the bits of cloth with the horned skull however the armour itself wouldn't bear it I think. Best thing would be looking at the Rubio model for that. MakoBoy88
Mk6 eh? That's not so bad an easily attainable. I'm thinking an Apothecary would be a better bet for my Stone Gauntlet themed list. Unless anyone can tell my why a Libby would be better in a Breacher squad. Slips
Its a good thing that a Knight Errant can be both an Apothecary (Narthecium) and a Librarian at the same time :p Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322223-kit-bashing-a-knight-errant/#findComment-4388761 Share on other sites
Ishagu
And have a jump pack lol. I might make one for him to join my unit of Locutarus... Would be pretty tough! PS: I need to make a unit of Locutarus first lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322223-kit-bashing-a-knight-errant/#findComment-4388763 Share on other sites

Slips
Can you have a entire army of knights errant lol Non-Compulsory HQ's only. I did want to make him both, but then knew I would be THAT GUY. You wouldnt. I mean, if you dont fulfill his "Quest" Thing, at best you can tie a game. MakoBoy88
And also where's the narrative for that? Haha. Although I guess I could make him like a Blood Angel Snaguinarh Priest type lad, who was preternaturally good at healing, so much so he was brought before the Librarius and found to have dormant psychic powers. At Signis Prime he met his end, as much of his Legion did at the hands of the daemons. But he was not truly dead, just damn near. Laying in hibernation, surrounded by the corpses of those he failed to save he slowly slunk Into blackness. Scant days after Sanguinius' escape, did Garrow and other Knights Errant arrive to rescue this weary and broken man. For years he was kept locked away for fear of taint upon his soul. Even when he was cleared, he could not trust himself to return to his duty. During this time, frequent meetings with Malcador and Rubio brought out the latent psychic abilities within him. Only when news reached Terra that his legion, the IXth were on their way to man the Walls did this brave Astartes agree to join the ranks for the Kights Errant and help serve once more. Slips
Or, he was an Apothecary Before his Latent Psychic Powers made themselves known and he got shifted to the Librarius. Then Nikea Happened. Flint13
^^How awesome an apothecary would a biomancer make? I'd read that black library story. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322223-kit-bashing-a-knight-errant/#findComment-4388794 Share on other sites
Slips
...That would be pretty Great. "Oh, my Narthecium got blasted by a Plasma Shot..." *casts Endurance* "Welp, nothing I can't handle!" *Casts Iron Arm* *Takes a Rushing Traitor's Head in hand, Crushes it like a Tomato* "Come at me, Traitors!" +++ Edit: Biomancy would probably be one of the Better Trees to roll on since 30k Libbies of all stripes can only ever roll on 1 instead of mix n' match like 40k. So if you got Iron Arm and Warp Speed (ML2), you'd potentially have: 7 Attacks on the Charge (3 Base, +3 Warp Speed, +1 Charge) S7 Ap2 (4 Base +3S and Smash from Iron Arm) Take a Power Maul for S9 Ap2 At Initiative if you can. Initiative 8 (5 Base + 3 Warpspeed) With a 2+/4++/5+++ from Artificer, Iron Halo and Narthecium while also being Toughness 7 (T8 if using Stone Gauntlet Shenanigans OMG THIS IS AMAZING AHAHAHA) From Iron Arm too. Sadly, due to the new FAQ Clearing things up, you'll only ever be able to cast 2 Powers a Turn due to ML2 so dont bother taking a Force Weapon for the Force Power for Instant Death since you wouldn't be able to cast it alongside Iron Arm and Warp Speed/Endurance if you got them. Slips
I just want to Clarify that your KE w/ Psychic Shenanigans in full force would actually have 8 Attacks on a Charge due to CCW & Pistol. Flint13
Do Knight Errant pyskers have to buy their force weapons separately? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322223-kit-bashing-a-knight-errant/#findComment-4389053 Share on other sites
Slips
There is no actual way for them to buy a Force Weapon. The Librarian Entry states that they replace the standard Chainsword/Combat Blade for their Force Axe/Sword/Staff or, if in Terminator Armor, their Power Weapon. So, from a PURELY RAW Standpoint, KE Libbies do not get Force Weapons since they do not have a Chainsword/Combat Blade to swap to one freely nor are they in Terminator Armor to be able to swap their Standard Issue Master-Crafted Power Weapon for. So yeah. Thats Interesting. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322223-kit-bashing-a-knight-errant/#findComment-4389064 Share on other sites
helterskelter
But by being a psyker they know the power force (in the main rule book I think?) So you can buy your power weapon and still use force. I think. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322223-kit-bashing-a-knight-errant/#findComment-4389072 Share on other sites
Slips
No, Force Weapons have the Force Special Rule which gives the Psyker equipped with it the Force Power :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322223-kit-bashing-a-knight-errant/#findComment-4389074 Share on other sites

MakoBoy88
Tbh, I'd much rather have a Fist for all my lovely attacks! Slips, this is happening. And it's probably going to be either a Blood Angel or an Emperors Children. Do we think they would have kept weapons from their legion, or strictly non descript paragon weapons? Slips
Yes, they were allowed to keep 1 thing from their previous lives. If you are doing this, use a non-unwieldy weapon to make the most of it.
