Bloody Legionnaire
I did mine with an airbrush. Primed the model with black spray paint, and then highlighted the armor with eshin grey. The few edge highlights that were done was with dawnstone. http://i.imgur.com/zHL6yaFl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Zl4qIOgl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nfwy78Gl.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322258-making-black-interesting/page/2/#findComment-4392103 Share on other sites
Arkaniss
Apologies GrandMagnus I gave you duff information. I checked and I actually used Skavenblight Dinge. I took a picture to show you, again you'll have to accept more apologies as my camera is poor. I hope I've been of some help anyway! GrandMagnus
No problem, everybody makes mistakes ;) That black looks nice, a bit greyish but I guess that could be the camera. I will still have to test it on a model so I can see it for myself. Thanks for sharing. CovertToaster
I was mucking around with black armour on the B&C painter and I was using Adeptus Battlegrey with codex grey and chaos black. Old names I think but with a bit of fine tuning I was going to go that route for my RW. Arkaniss
I gave it a wash of Nuln Oil, I guess repeated applications would darken it still. It's not too grey (in my opinion) IRL, the photo isn't great quality I'm afraid. NiceGuyAdi
There are three really nice tutorials on Tale of Painters you might want to take a look at. All black armour (Death Company and Iron Hands), slightly different recipes: Iron Hands Death Company 1 Death Company 2 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322258-making-black-interesting/page/2/#findComment-4397106 Share on other sites
