apologist
Having combed the Forge World books – fruitlessly – for any information on Knights that may have been present on Isstvan V during the Drop Site Massacre, I thought I'd turn to the noosphere for a little help. So – does anybody have any information, knowledge or informed guesses of any Households or Knight forces present on or near Isstvan V during the Drop Site Massacre? Chandrian
If i remember right (probably not )....wasn't Isstvan V suppose to be a "Legions taking care of Legion Business" kind of thing? Soo...no one other then The Legions sent by the "Emperor" and the Traitor legions took part? Marshal Loss
Book 2: Massacre by FW would be the place to check, but from memory I do not remember any Knights mentioned by name - only Titans. Rangaman
I've completely lost where I read this but I recall an allied House being completely wiped out alongside the Firebrands Titan Legion on Istvaan V, I will have a dig through my books to find the tidbit. apologist
If i remember right (probably not )....wasn't Isstvan V suppose to be a "Legions taking care of Legion Business" kind of thing? Soo...no one other then The Legions sent by the "Emperor" and the Traitor legions took part? That was my impression, but Massacre (et al.) mentions loyalist army regiments and a number of the Legio Titanicus being present. I was just wondering if there was any existing material on Knight Households being similarly present. I wasn't able to find anything in the Age of Darkness books I–III, but perhaps there's something tucked away in some obscure tome? Thanks for the answers so far. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322290-knight-housesforces-present-on-isstvan-v/#findComment-4390657 Share on other sites

Yeah I remember something about that - think it might be in Conquest, as the whole knights line was released after Massacre was published Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322290-knight-housesforces-present-on-isstvan-v/#findComment-4390661 Share on other sites
Sandlemad
House Col'Khak was sworn to aid the Legio Atarus, so they could well have been present. The phrase 'thrall-knights' was used. If the Legio Mortis had any similar allied houses, they could have been there too. If i remember right (probably not )....wasn't Isstvan V suppose to be a "Legions taking care of Legion Business" kind of thing? Soo...no one other then The Legions sent by the "Emperor" and the Traitor legions took part? Well, there were Imperial Army elements present, according to the maps in Massacre. It was, as you say, legion business so maybe these were inducted auxilaries for the legions, something like the the Iron Hands' Chainveil. Mechanicum elements were also on the planet: the books show thallaxii bonded to the DG, SoH and Iron Hands, and The First Heretic had the cybernetica units inducted into the Word Bearers. There might be room for freeblades or similar bonded knights who were close enough to certain legions to be present at the Massacre Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322290-knight-housesforces-present-on-isstvan-v/#findComment-4390662 Share on other sites
Rangaman
Just found mention of House Col'khak losing their complete cohort with a full Demi-legion of the Legio Atarus, that was straight from Warhammer40k Wiki though...I dont have my books on hand right now to follow that up. But Legio Atarus had a section in Book Two about coming to deathblows with Legio Mortis if I recall correctly and that Knight house was listed as allied. DuskRaider
You could have some House Makabius, as it's stated they had Freeblades join the Sons of Horus throughout the Great Crusader despite the Houter in general being relegated to their home planet. After Isstvan V they are recruited en masse and more or less given to the Death Guard by Horus himself. Marshal Rohr
There was an entire flank of the loyalist dropzone not held by legions. I'm sure the firebrands had allied knights but you'll have to check book 4, instead of 3. It'll have more details than massacre. RedFurioso
HH4-Conquest After the Dropsite Massacre and the sacrifice of a full demi-Legion of the Legio Atarus and their supporting Knights, the warriors of Col'Khak are clamouring for assignment to mustering maniples of Titans, eager to seek revenge for their brethren slain in the opening moves of Horus' rebellion.
