GreyCrow
Hello guys ! Any tips to make the decals stick ? I order a set of Raven Guard decals from Forgeworld and the slightest touch gets them off. JeffTibbetts
Is it possible you're letting them soak in water too long? You should apply them the moment they become loose. Also, can you tell us a bit about your process? Are you using any chemicals or just water, straight on a painted surface? Bloody Legionnaire
I like to put some 'ardcoat on mine after it dries just to protect the decal a little bit, but I really don't have a problem with the decals sticking when they dry. Do you put a little bit of 'ardcoat or gloss varnish the model before you apply the decals? GreyCrow
Hey ! It's possible that I wait too long to soak, but they don't come off on their own, so maybe I didn't soak them long enough. And it's indeed straight on paint, but I will look at 'ard coating the surface before and after. God that cross dealing scheme ! Bloody Legionnaire
GW transfer decals are not of the greatest quality... they are pretty stiff an don't form well especially to rounded surfaces. Many modelers find it necessary to make very tiny cuts in the decals to help them lay over rounded surfaces like pauldrons. You could try picking up some of testors decal solution for complex surfaces. There's actually quite a few model products on the market that help decals set on surfaces. A quick google search will bring up all the info you'd want/need. Guiltysparc
Yep, get th3 microscale system. I use it on my dudes and then I out a coat of testor's dulcote via brush over it to knock the gloss of the decal down.
