About Pop Goes the Monkey Shield Bits

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

I had a scout around the forum and it looks like a few Frater have had success with shoulder pads from Shapeways seller Matt Sweitzer (Pop Goes the Monkey). What I'm wondering is, has anybody used any of the Boarding Shields he does and how do they fit with normal marine components?

I know the FW Boarding Assault Set has the left arm integrated with the shield, and accompanying right arms designed so the weapons line up with the gap in the shield effectively. With the PGTM shields, it's just a left hand so what would be the best arm to combine it with? Just the normal supporting hand that matches with the Bolter arms?

I'd appreciate any insight, as well as if anybody has used his shields before and how they came out!

I bought some that had the SW emblem on it and there was no hand on the back. I believe the only ones that have hands are the blank ones. I have not worked with mine yet as I have other stuff queued up first.

Ah okay. The ones I was looking at (Minotaur Boarding Shields) seem to have the hand on so maybe it varies from one style to the next. What's the quality on your shields like?

Here's a picture. I just washed the shield with null oil to show the contrasthttp://www.bolterandchainsword.com/gallery/image/183021-shapeways-shoeld/

Thanks for doing that, it looks really good! Think I'll grab some of these on payday and worry about getting the arms to fit later!
