So A question about Pollux' Warlord Trait

Master Tactician  reads as follows.

After both sides are Deployed but before which side gets the first turn is determined , the Warlord's side may redeploy one of their units within the limitations of the mission being played. This may place a unit that has been deployed normally into reserve, or being a unit out of reserve.

In several zone Mortalis missions you are required to split your force into a spearhead and a reserve based on the number of units that you have. Now my friend and I both read Polux warlord trait and we arrived at two plausible outcomes.

Say you have 4 units

The split is 2 and 2

The way I read this is  Pollux allows you  to take one of your 2 units in reserve and move them onto the board to start the game effectively giving you a  3 and 1 split  or a 1 and 3 split if you so desire.  The way I read the rules as working is that the limitation of the mission is putting the unit in reserve to begin with and Pollux fishes the unit out of reserve and puts them on the board.

My friend ( this was a very amicable discussion by the way) read it as , well Pollux cant draw a unit out of reserves because the within the limitations of the mission part of his warlord trait means that for  X mission you have to have your force split into two.  IE with 4 units you need a 2 and 2 split.

As an aside for characters with fixed warlord traits we run them with the trait they are assigned and do not roll on the zone mortalis warlord trait tables.

While my friend and I felt the situation was a bit murky and that it could go either way I am curious to hear the thoughts of others on the matter.

Thank you in advance for your insight.

To me, within the Limitations of the Mission means that you still need to abide by them.

So if its a 50/50 Split, you gotta remain within that Limitation.

Because otherwise, it would be bypassing the Limitations set forth by the Mission.

However, Redeploy is a VERY Open term. It means you can effectively psyche out your opponent by Deploying unit X at Location Y but pull a fast one using his rule to deploy them at Location Z. And if Infiltrators are deployed by that Point, it means you can redeploy those, same with Scout Moves.
