Alamo GT

I played in the Alamo GT in San Antonio over the weekend. 2 days and 5 games.

I brought the following ball of fluffiness.

Dark Angel CAD

Azrael LOW

Librarian Force Stave

2x 5 man sniper scouts

3x 2 Quad Mortars

Sky Shield

Librarius Conclave

3 x ML2 White Scars Librarians on bikes with melta bombs 2x Force Axes, 1x Force Sword

Wolkfkin Formation

5 x 15 Fenrisian Wolves w/ 1x Cyber Wolf

Game 1 Hammer and Anvil 15-1 Loss

v Eldar Corsairs Scat bike spam, warp spider spam WK, Farseers, 2x hornets, Void Shield Generator , and some HQ with some wonky powers.

This was a frustrating match as my opponent deployed as far back as he could out of range of my Quad Mortars Shatter shots. I killed everything I touched except the WK( Assault didn't happen until T5). On turn 2 I missed a charge and on Turn 3 he used a psychic ability I have never seen before. He put my entire Dogbomb into ongoing reserves. As it was, I almost got back in the game. But, my opponent won the primary, secondary and linebreaker.

Game 2 Vanguard 20-0 Win

v Tyranids 5 Flyrants, 2 pods w, gaunts, 3  Zonathropes, and some spore mines

I seized the initiative and was able to kill one flyrant and put 3 wounds on another Turn 1. I  controlled the board the whole game and assaulted as much as I could. He shot me up but the Wolfbomb was resilient.

Game 3 Dawn of War 20-0 Win

v Tau Riptides and FW suits, path finders, stealth suits, and piranhas.

My opponent went first, I weathered the storm and then moved forward keeping a bubble wrap around the Quad Mortars. The game ended when I assaulted 5 of his units in a giant multi assault.

Game 4 Hammer and Anvil 20-0 Win

My opponent went first scout moving up and pouring most of his fire into the Wolfbomb. I weathered the storm and assaulted turn 1.  The quad mortars did some serious work this game crippling his back field and smashing armored units.

Game 5 Dawn of War 15-1

v Space Wolves COF WGBL, 2 x 5 man Wulfkin 3 drop pods, Wulfkin Formation 5 x 5man Wulfkin

My opponent went first and put his pods on my front doorstep. I multi charged them and the battle began. It was a slugfest  But I ended up getting the primary, Secondary and Last Blood

So, I finished 3rd overall for the weekend. Not bad considering the army was painted in two weeks and the game one was my first time to play the list. All my opponents were great and the event was a lot of fun as always.

Being able to give all those wolves a 4++ and FnP really makes them tough. If you rolled the new space marine psychic power that lets you reroll saves, it would be even better. And all the wolves get an extra attack from the formation as well. Man, the more I think about it, the more my mouth waters. Fearless means they're immune to pinning/leadership shenanigans. Hit and run means they can't be tarpitted, and because the 4++ isn't psychic in nature, you're immune to the culexus.

What power did the Eldar player use that removed the whole unit from the table?
