Newbie from the Immaterium

Recommended Posts

Hi all

so the warp spat out another newbie!

well into my 30s by now I finally found a way into the hobby. Windowshopping with a friend and his son I stumbled over the BaC box. The kid was intimidated. So was I, but rather brave than wise I went back to the shop.

Now I sit here with more plastic and resin I could paint before the end of the year, but one has to start at some point, right? So I got me some paint and made some mistakes when priming, painted coats thick as icing, but finally there is a result or rather a start: My first ever almost finished minis and a reason to say hello after lurking for quite a while.

Actually I wanted to paint the BaC box as Word Bearers with red should pads (don't like black pads) as well as the old grey color scheme, but the red turned out like dusty Thousand Sons... so I added gold highlights to the trim (as a test) and now I am totally undecided really.

Here's some WIP shots. Minis still need clean up, better highlights and backpacks... http://imgur.com/a/hWqaR

Once decided if I turn them to WBs or TSs I will open a WIP thread. Please help me decide what to actually paint!

Thanks everyone for the friendly welcome and nice words on my first steps into painting!

I specified my question a bit and try to inquire more information on TS in the AoD subforum / legion for you thread.  http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/320317-the-legion-for-you-part-two-electric-boogaloo/?p=4404205 Thx again for you interest.

Do TS, they're cool and under represented. Their time is the sun is coming too, so it could actually be the perfect time to start - you can work on some Tacs while the new and fancy bits come :) Your red could easily work for either legion, but I'd say perhaps a little more TS than WB.
