Seconded... though I've already got up on my soapbox once already about the "artwork" for The Great Wolf. I wonder if the rest of the series will all feature eyeless Primarchs? Is there any information on the release order for the rest of the series and what events they will cover?

Really glad to see Guilliman getting the audio treatment as well a general Hardback release... better start saving those pennies!

It is shorter than a full length novel. I have a copy of Guilliman, haven't read it yet, but the page count clocks in at 200 I think.

Agreed Wraight doing this makes it worth the buy. I think it is a given he will write Russ very well (If Scars and Wolf King is anything to go by). I am more curious how he will handle the Lion. So far I haven't liked how the Lion comes across. I know this is Gav's baby but doesn't do him well (He does Corax better).

Not sure, but I would have suspected even a couple months ago that the whole series would be 50K words like Guilliman--but--given most of these haven't even been written yet BL might incorporate feedback/fan requests to commission longer books if we all ask. For anyone who would like longer books please do email GW/BL customer service to let them know that. They will pass that info on to the decision makers if you ask. Surely someone joined me in this effortlaugh.png

Though I'm waiting for this book, I really dislike the art.

He just looks silly. Not even close to other marvelous artwork (and fan art) which was done until now. And definitely how I would imagine him.

come on, what's there not to like? is it the baby-like stubby arms? or perhaps the rampant obesity?

Why...........

Cant.........

Primarchs........

Have.......

Eyes........

Seriously, unless I am mistaken, None of the artwork is actually finalized, but if that is the case, why release any previews at all? If I were s Space Puppy (and I most certainly am not....) I would be very concerned by now. The artwork for Guilliman is clearly based upon his model by FW

If Space Puppys do not quite like the look of their Primarch in this art, beware, FW and these books seem to really work off eachother (I know my sample size is 1...but still)

I'm getting to the point that I would almost rather have a novel about First Chapter Masters. The guys that lead the Legion before the Primarchs were discovered. We already know the broad strokes of each Primarch, why not something else, less beholden to the canon concerning Primarchs?

(edit for addition re. CM's)

Oooh, now that I would read in a heartbeat ! I've always been interested in the Legions pre-Primarchs, and despite us knowing of the Warhounds and the Dusk Raiders for instance, there has been very little written about them...

However, we've already seen previews of Russ's model, and he looks like one of the best primarchs to date.

Dulan!!

Awesome. A story where Wolves get their butts kicked while being on the winning side and their Primarch gets knocked unconscious.

Another win for the Wolves!! :tu:

Good thing is Chris Wright is writing the book, so it shouldn't be too painful to read.

Unless I am wrong, which I can be from time to time, or it is another piece of SW lore which is to be ret-conned.

The governor laid a personal insult at Russ' feet, so Russ swore he would kill the governor of Dulan...

The SW & DA fight together. Jonson scouts the fortress and finds weaknesses, but Russ, angry, wants to flat out assault the place.

During the battle the DA decide to follow the Lion's plan, rather than e agreed joint plan and take the fortress.

Russ & the Wolves are left at the foot of the walls watching as the DA take the fortress and the Lion kills the governor.

Furthermore the Wolves flank is left exposed by the Lions abrupt change in plans and the Wolves suffer heavy casualties.

Enraged not only at the loss of his troops, but losing face because the Lion instead of the Wolf killed the governor, he strikes Jonson and then the brawl starts. Which is ended when Jonson knocks Russ out with a low blow.
