Istvaan V question

Hey guys I just have a quick question regarding the Iron Hands on Istvaan V. I know Clan Avernii was almost obliterated in the massacre but do any of the texts mention which of the other clans were also there? I gather that most clans were present to some extent with Morragul being the exception as Autek Mor missed the whole party but I'm not sure if I have my facts strait. There are just so many novels and HH volumes, it's hard to keep it all strait!

Massacre makes it pretty clear that whilst the Avernii were Ferrus' favourites and formed the vanguard of the drop, all of the others were present to some extent and a good chunk of the Legion as a whole fled Istvaan so pick a clan and let your imagination run wild :D

Quickly glancing over Massacre, the following clans are displayed -

Vurgaan (mountain split by lightning)

Ungavarr (twin serpents)

Gaarsak (solid black cog) - specifically mentioned for orbital actions, so I'm not entirely sure if they made it planet-side or not.

Meduson states that Sorrgol (black spanner) were present in orbit over Isstvan V, but (IRRC) it doesn't explicitly state whether any of the clan were on the ground. Shadrak Meduson himself never made it planet-side, as he was to be part of the 2nd wave/orbital reserve forces.

There were still only about 10,000 Iron Hands planetside, but as we don't actually know how big the Avernii Clan is, it's difficult to suggest how many Legionaries were present from the other Clans on the surface.

That said, with about a third of the Legion entirely absent from the battle, that leaves roughly 70,000 Legionaries present in the orbital conflict at some point, so there's almost infinite freedom when it comes to the overall engagement.

Some info from other books:

Retribution page 26: "Morkarch was a survivor of the Dropsite Massacre, one of the few of Clan Vurgaan to escape the Urgall depression after being outflanked by World Eaters and Death Guard units."

Conquest page 159: "Markings on his chest plate identify the Legionary as a member of Clan Felg, and faint insignia on his right pauldron suggest he was part of the Order Tertii, 25th Cohort, a seeker-killer formation deployed to the surface of Isstvan V"
