Unit Size in epic

Since most of the material is no longer available does anyone know what the comparable TOEs of epic scale units are compared to their 40k counter parts?

For instance is 2 stands of infantry and a chimera meant to represent an abstraction of a Steel Legion platoon or a truer 1:1 squad parity.

It's +- 1:1

1 Chimera and 2 stands represents a squad (5 models each stand)

I say +- because, in Epic Armageddon rules, base sizes aren't fixed, and the number of models per stand (according to the rules) may varie:

• A stand may be no more than 40mm and no less than 5mm across in any direction.
• A stand must be at least 20mm across in one direction (i.e., a 5mm by 5mm stand is not allowed, but a 5mm by 20mm stand would be okay).
• Stands representing infantry units must have at least three infantry models and may not have more than seven. Infantry mounted on bikes or horses must have between two and four models mounted on each base.
• Stands representing artillery must have between one and two artillery pieces and up to six crew models.

However, you don't use squads in Epic, you use platoon sized formations (12 stands and 6 chimeras).

With other rules (Epic Space Marine/Titan Legions or Epic 40k) the bases are fixed and relationship of models per base is also 1:1. i.e. 5 models in a base represents 5 actual individuals, so a squad of Space marines would be 2 stands.

Here is the link for the current rules (revised regularly): http://www.net-armageddon.org/
And the forum with a currently very active community: http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/index.php

Hope this helps.

I will just jump in and say that the http://www.net-armageddon.org/ is completely out of date and do not use the army compendium

Here is the current website for all fully approved army lists and the current rulebook and FAQ's - http://www.tp.net-armageddon.org/

Armyforge is a good quick army list builder (Not always up to date with lists but pretty good - https://traitor-legion.appspot.com/indexNETEA.html
And Taccoms is still the most active community website and where the other current lists are still in development or experimental stages - http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/index.php
