Archidamus
So as I mentioned in my thread in the main forum this is the army list I am roughly collecting to for my Blackshields. I'm not particularly looking for making it super optimised, but I'd like opinions and suggestions on the list, keeping with the theme of the Blackshields. Originally there were a few more rhinos, but then I was capitalising on the Void Reavers rule for the Outlanders (allowing up to half the infantry to deep strike that didn't have dedicated transports. As it turns out none of the army has a dedicated transport). So I'd like to make minor tweaks to the list here and there to make more able to utlise the Blackshield: Outlander rules. +++ The Dark Brotherhood (3499pts) +++ Blackshields, Outlanders + HQ (408pts) + The Nemean Reaver (180pts) (Warlord as per jealous command) Legion Centurion (98pts) Rad Grenades, Tartaros Terminator Armour with Power Weapon (axe), Xenos DeathlockLegion Centurion (130pts) Consul: Dark Herald Artificer Armour, Charnabal Sabre, Rad Grenades, Refractor Field + Troops (961pts) + Blackshield Marauder Squad (308pts) 14x Marauders , 2x Astartes Shotgun, Power Weapon, Nuncio-vox, 2x Xenos DeathlockMarauder Chief Lightning Claw, Rad GrenadesBlackshield Marauder Squad (237pts) 2x Astartes Shotgun, 9x Marauders, Nuncio-vox, 2x Pariah FlamerMarauder Chief Combi-weapon, Rad Grenades Blackshield Marauder Squad (181pts) 3x Bolter, 5x Marauders, Nuncio-vox, Pariah Power Armour, Xenos DeathlockMarauder Chief Combi-weapon, Rad Grenades Legion Tactical Support Squad (235pts) 9x Legion Space Marines, Rotor CannonsLegion Sergeant Artificer Armour + Elites (525pts) + Apothecarion Detachment (125pts)Legion Apothecary (70pts) Artificer Armour, Augury Scanner, Rad GrenadesLegion Apothecary (55pts) Artificer ArmourLegion Quad Launcher Support Battery (150pts) 2x Legion Rapier, Incendiary Shell, Shatter ShellLegion Veteran Tactical Squad (310pts) 9x Legion Veteran Space Marines, Legion Vexilla, 5x Power Weapon, x2 Volkite Charger Legion Veteran Sergeant (20pts) Artificer Armour, Rad Grenades, Power Weapon (axe) Veteran Tactics: Furious Charge + Fast Attack (430pts) + Legion Jetbike Sky Hunter Squadron (145pts) 3x Space Marine Sky Hunters, Volkite CulverinLegion Storm Eagle Assault Gunship (285pts) Armoured Ceramite, Twin-linked Multi-melta, Two Twin-linked Lascannons + Heavy Support (715) + Deredeo Pattern Dreadnought (220pts) Aiolos Missile Launcher, Anvilus Pattern Autocannon Battery Legion Spartan Assault Tank (330pts) Auxiliary Drive, Flare ShieldSicaran Battle Tank (155pts) Heavy Bolters + Lord of War (410pts) + War Machine Detachment (410pts)Legion Malcador Assault Tank Armoured Ceramite, Autocannons, Flare Shield, Heavy Stubber, Space Marine Crew, Command Tank Initial tactical ideas and stuff Centurion loadouts: Dark Herald: The Herald is rather limited in the options he can take. I decided to give him the Charnable Sabre as a means to keep him one step ahead of any challenges he ends up with (that is of course if the Marauder chief and the secondary centurion bite the dust before him). (Tartaros) Terminator Centurion: Originally I conceived him as a chaplain, a dark orator of the Nemean helping to alleviate the doubts of the Blackshields finding a safe haven under his command. Paired with the large Marauder squad on the charge they would be capable of causing a massacre (depending on their armament). Instead he is now basically the bodyguard of the Herald. Honourable mentions: Endryd Haar I like this guy. His backstory and his actions in the Xana incursion are pretty awesome. It’s likely he will become interchangeable with the Nemean later on in the lifespan of this army, as he isn’t locked down by having a specific wrought by war trait. If I were to take him the wrought by war would probably be changed to Orphans of War (it seems to suit him the most), or Chymeriae. Character placement: The Nemean Reaver and the AA apothecary will join the veteran squad inside the Storm Eagle. They will act as a rapier thrust. Striking at targets of opportunity and characters that the Nemean really wants to see die. The second apothecary (with the augury scanner) will be joining the support squad. The scanner isn’t particularly useful to them due to the rotor cannons but a little bit if infiltration denial is always handy. Both the Dark Herald and the terminator centurion will join the fifteen-man marauder squad in the Spartan. The original intention was either to only have the terminator centurion as a consul chaplain and an apothecary to increase their combat potential, but as apothecaries cannot join Marauders as of yet I decided to add a Herald instead. In most lists terminators (of both generic and legion specific variety) would be the alpha strike. In keeping with the Blackshield theme, it seems unlikely that they would be able to maintain large stocks of tactical dreadnought armour. em_en_oh_pee
Nemean has Jealous Command (as noted), Dark Herald has Rites of Command that state he must be the Warlord. So those dudes are in conflict and per the FAQ, you got to pick one or the other, but can't have both. IronDrake28
I thought Heralds had 'Support Officer', so they can't be the warlord? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322994-blackshields-3500pts/#findComment-4425057 Share on other sites
Caillum
No, Support Officer means they can't be the Compulsory HQ. They can still be the Warlord. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322994-blackshields-3500pts/#findComment-4425065 Share on other sites
