Razblood
Awesome ill be grabbing them tomorrow. Just wished GW showed them off a bit more Just make sure to give them a couple of coats as they can be a bit patchy otherwise :tu: GW do seem to have missed a beat when it comes to promoting these. Dantay VI
May I ask, is the darker colour on the blades and gems due to using a darker colour below, or because of the "swipe" method leaving more of the gem paint in one area? Guiltysparc
I used the blue gem paint on the spartan i'm working on, figured i'd repost the pics here also. On the view ports i did the dab and drag method on top of runefang. On the round thing i did a couple coats for more even coverage but left it a little thin on top, again over runefang. Razblood
May I ask, is the darker colour on the blades and gems due to using a darker colour below, or because of the "swipe" method leaving more of the gem paint in one area? On the swords it's because I used a lighter silver on opposite quarters of the blades so when light hits it it reflects more from those parts, also applying multiple coats seems to make it much richer in tone and less candy-coated metal looking. I didn't use the swipe method as it streaked like crazy when I tried, so I just layered it like normal paint. Will warn that it still looked a little patchy after 2 coats, but it seemed to self-level as it dried.
