Graviton and you

Recommended Posts

How and how much do you use graviton in your legion army?

I've got a Rapier graviton cannon on its way and would like to know if more should be added to my IH army.  Is it more useful than a laser destroyer?  Haywire says yes for killing metal bawkses, but it seems less versatile for killing most other things than a laser destroyer.  Creating difficult/dangerous terrain is a useful plus, however.  Graviton over quad mortar or laser destroyer Rapiers?

What about the graviton gun?  I've got some, but mostly put them into a 40k army.  IH can get them into a support squad, but what would their purpose be?  Cheaper than melta and better for anti-vehicle, but hampered by the Heavy rule, I think.

Thoughts/suggestions?

I try to fit grav weapons every place I realistically can. That haywire rule is just too good against the high armor beasts of the Heresy

I have my arch-nemesis 4 land speeders for the purpose of grav weapons, and kit out every Contemptor I can with them

Grav on every contemptor.

On speeders too, for mobile grav.

Rapier weapons.... I always include some, but laser destroyers normally(better synergy with tank hunters mutable tactic). I always upgrade to grav if I have the points though.

Its much more of a guarantee than rolling for armour.

I personally wouldn't bother on a special weapon squad, as cant fire well when they deploy, and will be priority number 1 the next turn.
