Home World Triplopis of the Fey Sector

 

Background

The Fey sector would be for many years a peaceful sector of space, relatively untouched by the harshness of war. Many in the Imperium would speculate why this was, some believed it was due to the fact that in the grand scheme of things with it being on the Western Fringes of the galaxy it was not a major strategical point.

 

However if truth was to be told it would be that after the aftermath of the Horus Heresy, this sector of space was simply forgotten lost to the ages. However this would all soon change when the mechanicum would find a device that they believed would lead them to a ancient Forgeworld which may contain stcs for vehicles and weapons lost since the days of long night.

 

Such a undertaking was considered by much of the imperium as a great thing, for it may contain much knowledge which could save the imperium. In particular the Iron hands agreed to send a small strike force to help protect the mechanicus forces in addition to a mechanicus aligned Knight household and a regiment of guardsmen should they come under attack. The journey to the fey sector tool roughly a month to get their however when they arrived they would find the system under attack by the Emperors Children of which the assault was primarily focussed on the world of triplopsis.

 

Battle plans were made and it was decided that the Iron Hands would form up a mechanised spear tip backed up by a bike mounted assault column to rip out the heart of the heretic forces, supported by the Knights while the mechanicus forces would provide supporting fire power while the guardsmen would be used as a meat grinder to lure the heretics in. While the guard commander initially rejected this plan he realised that it would be necessary for them to even stem the tide of heretics
