Sororitas Update Feedback

Sisters get more feedback because they aren't the dishonorable dogs of Chaos. ;P

More seriously, I figured it'd be good to basically lay out the whole conundrum surrounding Acts of Faith and why it's so hard to get them updated:

So based on C:WH, Acts of Faith should be "small miracles" that are attributed to the Big E (or, for the less pious, be a result of how much feverant zeal they have for the Corpse God and his shiny folding chair).

In terms of rules players want:

  • Variety (options make players feel more important because they choose something)
  • Less bookkeeping (no one wants to spend more than a minute figuring out who can do what in their army, keeping track of statline increases that only last the game or constantly monitoring a pool of points from turn to turn. And your opponent doesn't want to have to do this either to prevent cheating)
  • Feel thematically appropiate to the army
  • Be fair and fun for both parties

So needless to say this means there is likely no easy answer and I'm going to go mull it over even more to see if I can't puzzle something out.

On a different note, I was considering something for the army: Holy Promethium lighting units on fire (and Sisters having Plasma Pistols that do the same if a target dies) as they purge the unclean.

Not sure what the Holy Bolter should get yet for upgrades, same for Meltas (as the holy trinity really should have options all the way around).

I am looking at bringing in some old ideas into the mix as well: Dominica Pattern drop pods, some special characters that we've lost along the way and a light tank option I started homebrewing sometime ago (12/11/10 Rhino chassis with a Siege Blade and a turret with either a melta cannon, bolt cannon (and not the piddly one from the DA) and a Flamestorm cannon with Torrent as options).

I'm trying to figure out how a mountain sized folding chair works . . .

only in the Grimdark

On the bookkeeping thing, not something I mind particularly. If I have to say, track faith points in order to have a fluffy and interesting system, that's something I'm very willing to do.

Not that I'm like everyone else.

Its obvious how mountain sized folding chairs work.

Aliens....giant aliens, this guy knows it, hes a proffesor after all.

YOU DARE IMPLY HIM ON TERRA USED XENOS TECHNOLOGY TO BUILD HIS ALMIGHTY PORTABLE THRONE?!?! YOUR HERESY MAKES LESS SENSE THAN THE SHOW YOU ARE REFERENCING!

Clearly he was only inspired by those Xenos and didn't at all borrow dirty xenos tech to make his portable lawn chair. Just like there wasn't any Chaos magic used to make the Primarchs....

Wait, the chaos gods just stole the primarchs from the emperor right?

Horus Heresy novel series has some implications regarding the Big E, how the Chaos gods were able to snatch them Primarch away and some characters written on the pods the Primarch were in looking a lot like the ones a certain Legion uses.

Basically heresy and sorcery seem to be involved.

On the note of the combat shield in my unit entry idea, i have been thinking about it and than i remembered the back ground story and origins of that Repressor again, the Flamer on it was a watercannon at first and was mend to subdue rioters, it was changed for a war prupose later on.

Another thing one sees when a riot breaks out are shields.

So i think that instead of a combat shield the unit i mentioned (and some other units) should get...

Sororitas Repressor shield:

A shield vastened to the forearm allowing the wielder to use a weapon as well as hold back any assailant. It was adapted by the Adaptus Sororitas around the same time as they started using the Repressor tank, hence its name.

-The shield improves the shield of faith special rule by 1, in addition the opponents never gains a charge bonus.
