DeputyDorden
Greetings fellow Guardsmen, Im sure theres a post somewhere in the barracks similar to this, so I'm sorry if I'm rehashing old posts but I feel like AM are being left out slightly, what with all the Astartes rules for chapters and such and wanted to get an idea of how other Guardsmen feel. I can remember playing Guard during 5th edition (i think) and the thing I liked most about them, similar to the space marines, was the ability to create your own regiment/chapter. Now any Abnett aficionados, in particular those who have read Gaunts Ghosts will understand how they fight, as a light infantry outfit, specialising in scouting, marksmanship and general Spec ops badass-ary. Here http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/293065-updated-7e-tanith-first-and-only-87-page-fandex/ is how one member thinks they should be played, but I'm unsure if many metas would allow whole fan-dexs to be used, so I have a few ideas of my own i'd like you all to check out ''Tanith born and bred'' 45pts per Veteran squad + Forward sentries (camo gear counts as shrouded) + Outflank + Sharpshooters (any veteran armed with a lasgun can re roll 1s to hit) ''Straight Silver'' 35pts per Veteran squad + Light Infantry (Rolls additional dice when determining how far they can move through difficult terrain) + Infiltrate if mission allows + Plus 1 to WS and A of Veteran squads What house rules do you run for your regiment? Do you think GW will create something like this in the future? Cheers B&C Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323423-regiment-ruleshouse-rules/ Share on other sites
WarriorFish
It has been something we've discussed a little in our musings on what may (or should...) come, it'd be very cool to have some customisation options on what is without doubt one of the most diverse armies in the 40k lore. I am fully expecting some form of "regimental tactics" when we get our update and I'll be eager to find out what it may include. Fandexes have their own particular issues so they often don't get used much which is why a sort of "fan supplement" is a better idea. As for your two options they feel a little on the expensive side, as there is diminishing returns on even a Veteran squad as they'd need further upgrades to be effective even if it's just special weapons. Perhaps reducing the costs a bit, maybe 10pts? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323423-regiment-ruleshouse-rules/#findComment-4427198 Share on other sites
