Sabuulia
Good morning all, Unfortunately due to the forces of Chaos (ie. work) I have not made much progress on my vow. However, this is changing - efforts will be redoubled this week. Apologies for the poor quality photos - this weeks list of things to do includes learning to take better photos. Solrac
You have a plan, that's always helpful! As for taking better photos I couldn't work out why my phone took crappy photos all the time. I googled the best camera settings for the phone I had and my photos got substantially better, I recommend you do the same. Sabuulia
Hi guys, I have been working diligently and am slowly getting along. All models are now cleaned and prepared for painting, I am just awaiting magnets so that I can finalise the razorbacks, predators and the nephilim jetfighter / dark talon. A question for others - how on earth do you paint so fast? I have spent about twelve hours on these so far, and still have to do the bodies of the riders - have done the black highlighting on them, but found it was slowing me down to keep switching. I estimate that I have about 6 - 8 hours left on these models. My next set will be the librarian and land speeder. Some pics for your enjoyment - they are better than last time but I think I need to sort out some more lighting. This is the two attack bikes and three black knights. The whites have taken about three to four coats over a fenrisian grey to get to this level. Comments and Criticisms are welcomed - any tips will be well taken. Raztalin
Bikes are looking good. Keep it up!! Personally, I have no idea how folks paint so fast and to such a standard!!! Its dedication i guess lol Just keep at it, it's a hefty vow you have there, good luck in completing it! We will be watching!!! Greenz
Everythings looking great! That glass looks especially tasty... As for the speed of painting, it all depends on the scheme/ style/ person. I find its best to assembly line paint. Pick a colour, see it through the full squad, then move on to the next Colour. I try to get in 1-2 hours an evening, usually after my wife has fallen asleep. Its quiet then... Its really about finding your groove. Some people are just naturally faster. Don't be discouraged by guys like Elmo, were still not sure if he's human or not Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323500-sabuulias-etl-v-progress/#findComment-4441344 Share on other sites
Punk possum
Looking good, I'd say your off to a flying start. For me speed of painting is all wrapped up with completion, I find my enthusiasm wanes severely if something takes more than a week, so now I work on one dude at a time and that is what keeps me going just ticking off one more done from the to do list. Also a fine single malt on completion is a pretty decent motivator too I totally agree with Greenz the 1 hour a night is a great way to go, long enough to make some decent progress but not so long it feels like a chore. Also I'm pretty much convinced Elmo isn't human...
