Nicodemus Doloroso
Alright, comrades ... I'm having some major "modeller's block" trying to think of what an inquisitor who is investigating/overseeing a Blood Angels successor chapter might look like. I had the idea of adding a basic/stock inquisitor (carapace, bolt pistol -- MAYBE an infernus -- CCW) with some servo skulls to the BA army I'm bringing to a tournament in November since three servo skulls are always helpful and I have a decent amount of deep-striking stuff, plus it's always cool to have an inquisitor. I have no idea what he should look like though, or how to tie him into my army. The BA successor chapter in question can be found linked in my signature. WarriorFish
As an Inquisitor you can make him look like whatever you like of course, but what sort of ties are you planning on doing? Is he matching their appearance, or has he grown affiliated/sympathetic with them over time? Perhaps they are BA gifts in honour or something (or to keep him sweet...)? The BA have some fancy weapons and trinkets you could use, plus there's always a complementary colour scheme to help bind models together as an army :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323517-an-inquisitor-supervising-a-ba-successor/#findComment-4430188 Share on other sites
Aqui
Does it have be a he? There are quite a number of non GW models that might be suitable. If the Tournament states GW models only then, the options narrow quite a bit... Nicodemus Doloroso
@WarriorFish: Those are some good questions. I guess I need to think some more about the Inquisitor's background and the nature of his relationship with the Angels Sorrowful and this may help with the modelling ideas. The key is that I want him to fit-in with the army visually and stylistically, because these are things that every army will be graded on by opponents. I was a bit surprised at how much I got "dinged" on theme points for my DKoK/Inquisition army, and I am guessing this is because they did not have common colours (DKoK are German Field Grey, with Grey/Brown tanks, and the =][= stuff is classic =][= colours) so people assumed I was trying to put together a power army not a thematic one. So in order to do that, I think the inquisitor should at the least feature a fair bit of purple. As to whether the Angels Sorrowful gave him stuff ... well, the AS love their bling even more than the BA or average BA successor so the inquisitor may well pick up on that whether he's gifted stuff or not. @Aquilanus: The model doesn't have to be GW, this tournament is pretty easy going in that regard. Nor does the inquisitor, strictly speaking, have to be male, although I would only consider a reasonable and realistic female model not the practically pornographic models that seem to make up 99% of female minis out there. WarriorFish
I wouldn't worry about tourney points for modelling, I know how people vote on stuff like that - just go with what you want :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323517-an-inquisitor-supervising-a-ba-successor/#findComment-4432311 Share on other sites
Arkaniss
As always with the Inquisition you can do anything. Since the question is how to tie the Inquisitor to the army for a tournament then the simplest solution is colour. Using BA weapons or trinkets might not be seen by your opponents so they could be unaware of the extra effort you've gone to. Any fashion concious Inquisitor has some kind of cloak/tabard/robe so painting that in a matching or complementary colour is the way to go if you ask me. Without seeing models it's difficult to go further so maybe you could post up some WIP shots when you're ready?
