UltraRich
I cant see this anywhere else on the forum but I just spotted this. Ive been bidding on Tamiya tanks to make a decent half track back end but it looks like someones beat me to it. Ill be getting this as my next project post Imperial Knight All Id do differently is extend the rear guard over the back of the tracks slightly Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323530-new-from-zinge-for-taurox/ Share on other sites
WarriorFish
This is almost perfect timing, as I long thought the Taurox was our "missing link" opportunity for a half track... with the Scion box out too almost too perfect. Do you have any more details on the kit? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323530-new-from-zinge-for-taurox/#findComment-4430815 Share on other sites
UltraRich
Only whats on here It must have popped as Ive been searching for Halftrack in the last couple of nights (what with my knight about done!!) https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=zinge%20industries%20%20accessories%20for%20wargaming Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323530-new-from-zinge-for-taurox/#findComment-4430820 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
I found them, I've perused their site before - they have a wheeled kit already. I'm not sure if I can justify £15 on an upgrade for something you'd need a few of for an army though Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323530-new-from-zinge-for-taurox/#findComment-4430843 Share on other sites
UltraRich
Ive been looking at buying a tamiya tank kit and making a half track but these are all £10 + so by the time you have done with that and got the wheels £15 isnt too bad (and Im not on commission ;) ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323530-new-from-zinge-for-taurox/#findComment-4430877 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
I was poking the kits, it depends on how the half track kit pans out as separately buying just the track replacements would be all I'd care for so it could work out. We'll have to see! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323530-new-from-zinge-for-taurox/#findComment-4430887 Share on other sites
steellegionnaire85
There goes my bank account. I need some tauroxes to round out my mechanized infantry. Even if it does match the fluff of Armageddon Steel Legions. WarriorFish
Cool, I'll be interested in how it is. Though I have warmed to the Taurox after seeing it in non-GW colours and angles :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323530-new-from-zinge-for-taurox/#findComment-4431694 Share on other sites
Nomus Sardauk
Oh wow that half-track Taurox is stupidly pretty, I don't even play Imperial Guard and I want one... :p Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323530-new-from-zinge-for-taurox/#findComment-4433299 Share on other sites
ThatOneMarshal
The half track looks nice but the taruox still looks too small, if they wee to stretch the model out a little bit it would be pretty nice. A length extension kit like Chapter House's Stormraven conversion bitz? That would be nice, yeah. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323530-new-from-zinge-for-taurox/#findComment-4433394 Share on other sites
UltraRich
The kit came today Ive had stuff off FW and Victoria Minatures and Ive got to say this is the best resin casts Ive seen so far. No flash and apart from a bit of bending (hot water needed) on the thin accessories its perfect. I just need my Taurox sprues to come from ebay now!!! Can I abandon the ETL knight and start this instead...... oooooooh look at the shiny Taurox Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323530-new-from-zinge-for-taurox/#findComment-4433480 Share on other sites
Forward Assist
I use Zinge for scenery and gubbinz - always found them to be good quality kits at reasonable prices. The Mad Hermit
That kit really changes my opinion of the Taurox. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323530-new-from-zinge-for-taurox/#findComment-4438028 Share on other sites
UltraRich
Ive got all the bits I need now and Im about to start building I want to do this with the back guard over the half track http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/US/Armoured_Cars/M3_Half-Track/M5_british_8th_army.png If you look at a standard Taurox its back guard is open This means extending the Taurox by about 15mm I think Ive figured out how Im going to do it but I need to make it happen now!
