Librarian Dred vs Imperial Guard

I've been really neglecting the Lucius drop pod. And the list of benefits as stated above make a HUGE difference to the Libby's survivability after podding, which is easily its biggest weakness. It's amazing how much difference just two extra (three if you count the FAQ reversing the specialist weapon on the force halberd) makes to the unit. It's in my mind the hidden gem of the codex and if it's up there supporting your jumpers the enemy cannot ignore it.

Technomancy and Fulmination are the stand outs by far. I can't think of anything that this little beast can't threaten except a wraithknight because you'll never catch the damn thing unless you maybe get some scouts to switch Fulmination style (expect the eldar player to rage deny that roll lol).

I look forward to seeing more on the battlefield because they are a very iconic BA unit.

'Is the furioso force halberd supposed to have the specialist weapon rule?'

'No'

FAQ Blood Angels

I'll definitely have one in my next list having read this thread. Where can I get the new Psykic cards by the way?!

I believe they're still up on the website or you can find them in the supplement Angels of Death.

I mean, If I ever buy a Lucius pod I'm only going to buy one.

For my Leviathan.

I suppose the plan would be:

  • Hopefully get the +1AV Power.
  • Drop Libby in normal pod. Leviathan nearby in Lucius pod.
  • Buff the L Pod - AV13 5++ 3HP.
  • Next turn, disembark Leviathan, buff that to be 14/14/13 4++ 4HP laugh.png

FAQ Blood Angels

Ah I knew that one. I thought they said something new. It however does nothing to convince those that doubt the halberd getting +1A anyways.

Did I miss it or did the book omit saying that the new disciplines are available to BA?

Wouldn't you load the pods the other way around? The leviathan is/can be a lot more shooty than the Libby dread, so he could do more on the turn he drops.

I played with an Invisible Libbynaught in a few games before we got it nipped from us, it was hilarious.

ps. at best I play Deathwing (among several other armies), but I'm a BA player through and through. I know it's a DV Libby in my pic but he was painstakingly converted away from his sword-bearing brethren.

Apologies brother, by the blood we are bound ;)

Yes his loss was felt, although the flyrant was still his nemesis with those 12 twin linked s6 shots into the rear AV.

They seem only to be available with the book. Is the book useful at all for Blood Angels? If not I could just hock it on eBay I guess...

The book is totally useful!

So available they're almost on the street corner: https://www.games-workshop.com/en-CA/Psychic-Powers-Adeptus-Astartes-ENG-2016

Don't waste the $ on the Angels of Death supplement. There is nothing BA in there at all unless you play Red Marines. They have the new psychic power cards in a deck on gw.com (last time I checked).
