Lord Blackwood
So I have an event I will be attending at Dragonflight which is this local con ( not really a wargaming con ) thats going to be sponsored by the store and take place at the convention with guys from the Northwest 30k group. I have been diligently getting my ducks in a row ( as I very well might be helping out my store owner at Dragonflight) and I have been thinking about how much more difficult it will be to move my planned army around at the convention vs the store where I was very comfortable having things in X spot or Y spot cause I am so familiar with the space. So I was thinking , yo a display board maybe is the best course of action. So I threw everything onto a table and pulled out my tap measure Going across we have about 28 inches , which I guess would be something more like 30? Up to down is 24 and thats being generous really. So Ive never really prepared a display board and I really want something simple and not terribly expensive to put together. I am really hoping the community can give me some suggestions @ n @ LOOK AT MY PRAETOR I dont want to let him down D: Hadriel be like " Finish painting me bro , and get a display board" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323912-display-board-difficulties/ Share on other sites
Dantay VI
I would do your display board as 24"x24", so if push came to shove you could also use it as a gaming tile on a table (plus it is the size for GW's armies on parade comp) Maybe some smashed buildings a few dead traitor mechanicum skitarii. A bit like the novel in which the Dark Angels take on a Forgeworld then inadvertently hand over all the big guns to Perturabo. lionofjudah
Concur on the 2*2 board. I picked up sized lumber and foam board from lowes, glued foam to wood, primed foam-2 cans btw, sketched, painted and based . Here's my board from last years AoP. http://i1094.photobucket.com/albums/i444/Default75/1F4CFA4E-96AB-4738-B610-DF572ECDE80D_zpsscey14zp.jpg http://i1094.photobucket.com/albums/i444/Default75/F88ADB63-F566-4C4C-8E9C-E06C3425AAC9_zpskhsmcuvq.jpg http://i1094.photobucket.com/albums/i444/Default75/F88ADB63-F566-4C4C-8E9C-E06C3425AAC9_zpskhsmcuvq.jpg .. MithrilForge
@ Bladewolf- i reckon lionofjudah has it in a nutshell go 24" by 24" as "dantay_xv" said and put rod in buildings and float your scimitars around them whilst the big guys stalk through the middle put the knights in an arrow head with the xiphon flying tail end of the board. @ lionofjudah- awesome board and army i really love the "brown" buildings !! Lord Blackwood
First off gentlemen I would like to say thank you for helping me with this subject Secondly I really appreciate the look at your boards Lionofjudah absolutely superb. My friend James has offered to let me use one of his tiles for my display board so It seems I wont be able to cut my base size holes into it , but I am thankful for the suggestions and the knowledge that have been shared here when I make my own display board I will try my best to reach the same level of quality.Once I have everything painted up mostly I will bring it to the store and snag one of the tiles to try and get something to show , It likely wont be nearly as magnificent but it shouldnt cost much which I guess is a good thing. binary
Yeah, 24x24 is the way to go, let's you use some scenery and still pack a but load of miniatures on there. This was my armies on parade board last year with my true scale world eaters. Used the cities of death buildings and some craft foam and cardboard. Took me about 1 week to do I think. http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m200/mark_kilburn/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-10/10435D4F-65C0-437D-9113-25B4B28559DB_zpsiqojuqyk.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m200/mark_kilburn/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-10/066ADE8D-786E-4C4C-B7E6-BB8F64A83CCC_zpsfr6osjmi.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m200/mark_kilburn/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-10/99497AAB-4B06-46B3-8810-B1904893646B_zpsokew1cif.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m200/mark_kilburn/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-10/D495E015-C6C3-4D52-834D-876D8635F244_zpsth0ul6l3.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m200/mark_kilburn/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-10/F685473D-FB93-475E-BB35-FCDBFA48C67A_zpsgns0nb2w.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/323912-display-board-difficulties/#findComment-4444449 Share on other sites
