Rules Changes in LACAL

Veteran Marines are a brilliant choice now, and they make the Primarch's Chosen detachment a viable alternative to PoL lists, especially now that the Typhon is pricier.

I'm very, very happy with the changes to Apothecaries. Guilliman and my Suzerains just became more survivable :-D

The Malcador, with default front armour 14 and a price drop is an absolutely brilliant heavy support choice. Worth the investment.

Assault Marines: the substantial point cost drop fully justifies their inclusion in lists :-D

Do we know if a Legion specific rework is due?

I see a lot of Legion uniques becoming obsolete while some Legions have benefitted disproportionately (World Eaters) so are they planning to adjust costs for uniques

Yeah it's kinda weird.

Reavers, Rampagers, Headhunters... Even Mor'Deythan are all a little lacking now compared to the mighty veterans who can do what they did, cheaper and more consistently...

Hell frigging Inductii with S6 Chainaxes suped up with Apothecary stimms is just pure insanity.

@Lord Thørn, the Company Command Vehicle counts as having the Master of the Legion rule when running Armoured Breakthrough. He can, if you wish, completely replace the Delegatus/Praetor. He doesn't have to be the Warlord, but if he is then you do not roll for a Warlord Trait, but instead get +1 BS and the Super-heavy Command Tank rule (re-roll Morale within 24").

On the Legion-specific discussion... We only just got a new Age of Darkness Legions book! It had some changes, but definitely left a few units out in the cold, especially when you compare it to this newer generic Legions book and the Veteran buff. Chosen Duty or Maloghurst-led Sons of Horus are the business. :)

Veterans made better? Crazy.

Tactical discount is very nice for someone who likes to keep them cheap.

A little salty that my 15-man breacher squad costs the same and now is more if I go to bigger numbers, but okay I guess.

Assault marine buff I feel is almost too good, but I'll take it.

Javelins are have always been great, now are amazing.

Seekers being cheaper is a good thing although shame about more expensive extras. This change also cements Headhunters as utter trash.

New bikes seem lame for a heavy support option but maybe for a theme list.

The biggest change is apothecaries, which are now the best unit period. So many nasty shenanigans. Ravens and Snakes will be handing out a lot of shattered legion assists!

Yea I'm pretty surprised that barely anyone has talked about the javelins, but then again, most people didn't realize just how good they were.

Now, for under 200 points you can get a squadron that puts out 6 twinlinked bs5 krak missiles, 3 bs 5 multimeltas and a potential 6 more bs 5 krak missiles. That's 15 bs5  str 8 shots on a turn you shoot everything.

These Inductii that everyone keeps mentioning. What are they?

The World Eater Apothecary, Gahlan Surlak, allows you to upgrade WE tactical squads to Augmented Inductii.

They get +1 Str and FnP 6+, but BS3 and no longer count as scoring.

What are peoples thoughts on the new Deredeo lascannons? It sounds awesome but the points cost just feels far too high to me

Points aren't an issue for me and it gives the option of a heavy armour hunting Deredeo something the current one can't do as efficiently as 2 S10 Ap 2 Shots that can produce 1 more auto-pen each on a 4+ that ignores cover (see: Ignores Jink)

I'll totally nab a 2nd Deredeo with Lascannons at this point.

Even Tamplar Brethren are a little iffy now... Limited to just Swords. Sure they get FC but WS5 vets might just be better...

...Templar are WS and BS5 (Bolt Pistols) with FC, 2+/5++ though.

And their ride got cheaper it seems

Totally forgot they were 2+. Whoops.

Also don't know if people noticed but you can shoot the occupant of a dreadpod now

WHAT.

First bullet point of burning retros

"Once the Drop Pod lands, its doors are opened automatically, but the Dreadnought inside does not have to deploy out unless the controlling player wishes, and if this is the case, though it may still be targeted by shooting attacks, it may not be charged while this rule is in effect."

Oh that is awesome.
