Mounting Seraphim

I have seen the flying stand pegs mounted to regular bases with mixed results. A couple of times i have seen jet pack trails made of green stuff instead. Not for me really. I prefer to keep them on their original little pegs, but if i ever give up on repairing them. I think i would just mount them directly to the base, maybe moving leg positions just a bit to somewhat mirror assault marines.

That's what I plan to do with mine.

I haven't had a problem (yet) with mine, except for the PS/PP Superior with only one metal support. I had to use solder, then super glue to reattach her. It looks ok.

Florists' wire is a less specialised alternative to piano wire - it's a bit thicker and needs washing, but you can cut it with regular wire cutters (or any pair of clippers that works on sisters models) and it retains good flexibility.

I would do some sculpted bases and then pin (use a big pin, 1/2" into the model, and 1/2" into the base) them on so that they look like they are just leaping or landing.

Here's an example (not my work!) that I found via an image search:

I'm surpised the lazy solution didn't come up yet!

In order to spare myself the trouble of having to deal with those extra bits of metal between base and the models' feet through painting means, I simply shoved the model further into the base's slit until the feet hit the base and cut of the excess from under the base. Glued like that the models sticked firm enough to their bases, but just to be sure and also wanting to fill the empty bits of base slit, I glued in some fitting pieces of plastic as well.

Worked well for all models except the aformentioned Seraphim Superior, where I too, drilled into her boot and used a bit of wire from a paperclip.

And I just noticed I don't have no pictures of my Seraphim either!sad.png

Well, this may not be an example for what I was talking about, but rather about bending Seraphim feet into a standing position. The Superior here (middle front row) was converted from a Seraphim model. One that needed a bit of rock under her boot in order to stand straight.

Both aren't the fanciest of options but certainly among the easiest.
