Funny question

Recommended Posts

Hi,

As I stated above a funny question and not one about rules ecc...

Which is the best song to represent your warband? Have anyone of you a song which you think that could fit perfectly the spirir of your army/warband?

I'm running Iron Warriors and not decided yet... Thinking about Paint it black or The prici of a Mile, although hundreds more come in to my mind.

You?

YES. Thank you for asking this question. You could go for a sort of thrash metal to represent BA or punk rock for the emo night lords. Aren't Iron warriors meant to be paranoid conspiracy theorists. Jean Michel Jarre could work. tongue.png

When listening to music when gaming I usually find Two Steps from hell good for all wargaming stuff but it could be a bit too fantasy-like for you. Video game soundtracks work as well.

Due to it being played pretty much 24/7 in my local GW as a kid, my BA and Chaos are always synonymous with the first few Linkin Park albums :P

Being a bit more fitting though, the Final Fantasy 8 opening is pretty frigging great for imagining a Blood Angel drop from orbit. Especially if you were to layer bolt rounds, chainswords etc over it :P

Or it could be pretty good boss battle music for Horus vs Sanguinius laugh.png

WE SOAR ON WINGS OF FIRE.

For my Deathguard though I think Iron Man by Black Sabbath is pretty rad. It's quite slow and methodic, crunchy and deep, representing their relentless advance.

BONUS LITTLE KNOWN FACT:

Angron found this song in the archives and had the techpriests modify his nails so that this is constantly playing inside his head on a volume that can never be lowered from 12 (one more than 11 and legion number puns LOL)

For anything Age of Strife-related, I'd go for Vektor, Progressive Thrash with the motto "Sci-Fi or Die!" :

Another top pick for good hobby-music would be Fall of Efrafa, where the themes of life and death, science and nature, hierarchy and autonomy are explored in long moody passages and brutal crusty breaks. Based on "Watership Down" no less :D

When I'm psyching myself for White Scars, there's this:

Bolt Thrower, its always going to be Bolt Thrower for stuff in the 40k universe. The whole "Those Once Loyal" Album with its WWI theme is just slap bang perfect for the Iron Warriors, but if I had to pick a song it would be Salvo-

As any brother of the Grand Battalions would tell you there is indeed no shelter from the steel rain :)

Luna Wolves, Legio Mortis, Impeial Militia, Mechanicum all repesented by synthwave/retrowave.

That's one is awsome

Eh, if anything it'd be this for my company. To me I see the lyrics as how they were given a chance at greatness, but couldn't shake off their origins. Admittedly the music style itself isn't particularly 40k-ish tongue.png

P.s. if someone could tell be how to do the embedded video thing I'd be eternally grateful!

This is always fun. Can't really link music due to mobile and region issues, so from the tip of my tongue...

AC / DC "Shoot to thrill" for Emperor's Children, also "Sharp Dressed Man" and 'Rythmeen " by ZZ Top

"EVIL" from Austin Powers ( for anything Erebus related...), failing that "Holy Diver" by DIO

Scissor Sisters "I can't decide (whether you should live or die) " for Night Lords

The theme from the A Team, Impossible Mission and the Peter Gunn Theme for Alpha Legion. For obvious reasons. Also, "the Ninjas"by Bare Naked Ladies

More after the jump..

I'm a big fan of heavy metal and I think Mastadon do a heap of songs that work for the Legions. But.......I think the orchestrals they use for the character series are the best fit. Metal is too "now" for me and breaks my suspension of disbelief for a 30K/40K setting.

There are some awesome songs and suggestions above though.

While I agree, its hard to beat songs like this one for the world eaters :p
