So.... Stormbird anyone?

Heya people!

So hereby I am announcing that I will be making a stormbird gunship. But I am making it to my own tastes. While I REALLY love the FW one, I simply cannon justify it. So now I am making my own from sintra, plasticcard, bits and alot of tears.

I started today on the very basic shape. It has already reached over 40cm in length already! The FW one is around 50cm long, so I hope I can get mine very close to that scale.

So what did I do already? Well it looks horrid... But here ya go:

I also have a huge bitsbox ready for this project. I will also be updating this tread alot, it is like 1% done ATM. Tommorow I will be sanding the very overly used miliput (can get that stuff very cheap here), and then I will start basic building on top of the basic shape.

I will be following this thread very keenly! I've been mulling the idea of kitbashing/scratchbuilding a stormbird myself, but I'd rather see sombody else go through the trial and error and learn from them .

So after the horror that was my stormbird in starting phase, I started sanding... And sanding....And sanding.

The phase two was to start:

So yes! Cockpit inside, with human auxiliaries

But that's not allllll...

So now we also have the turrets! I have finnaly ordered the plasticcard to finish this project. And will order some bits in the near future to really finish it of.

there is also one other thing that really caught my eye:

some hero on FB decided to give me a surge of energy and inspiration with this start of a conversion. I am thinking: legion malcador squardon!!!!
