So I'm moving over to the guard now that my admech is nearly done - so far I have

-2 x leman russ

-chimera

- command squad

- 30 Cadians (sprinkled with special weapons)

- commissar

- 1x heavy weapon team

here's the chimera about 90% done just a little bit more work to do

Dunno how to do the searchlight so I just painted it yellow for now - any advice?

Also I played my first game using ad mech and guard allied and even though it ended in a defeat it was the most fun game of 40k I have ever had. It started slow but around turn 3 our armies clashed in the middle and it was a glorious bloodbath :P

-Raven guard try to hide from the glory seeking command squad-

(Also don't know why this one is sideways, sorry)

-the last survivor of my entire army faces down the enemy army(he was replaced with the banner for dramatic effect)-

Very nicely painted Duck. Guard can do a lot as allies. It's nice to see a cadian army that's not out of codex pictures. As WF said we're usually too wrapped up in our DIY's or doing the unsupported armies (Steel Legion, Vostroyan Firstborn, Tallarn and so forth).

I can't see the searchlight very well but, if you haven't already, slap some Casandora Yellow on it, brighten it back up with whatever yellow you used to basecoat it, and call it a day.

As for the army itself: looks great! I mean, 30 guardsmen is a little light but you're trying laugh.png! It's funny because we die in droves. Nothing? I'm still not funny!

Anyway, now all you have to do is give us some backstory. Don't be shy about it either. Just post away!

Thanks I will get get some casandora yellow next time I do an order.

I'll have to do some research first :p

Well today my eBay orders finally came in -

The heavy weapon teams need rebasing but apart from that they are painted pretty well :)

But the commissar might need stripping as the primer has chipped off in places

I also finished a cadian commander -

Not too happy with the skin but I have practised on some other models and I think I can do it better now

C+C welcome as always!

Excellent job on that commander, Duck! Don't worry about the skin too much as it looks very good from my end. His coat is so smooth looking, too. I mean smooth as in no bumps or anything, not the slang term meaning... whatever. You understand.

Keep it up thumbsup.gif!

PS: Also waiting for your fluffy backstory!

Minor Setback

So I just tried to prime some scions with a colour from Montana gold that I bought about 6-9 months ago. And well, now my scions look like they are made out of lumpy stone :( tommorow I'm off to get some stripper and a new primer from Wilkos. I'm sure not all sprays from Montana gold are like this just unfortunately it has slowed my progress a little.

Fantastic job on the tank, Duck! It looks almost good enough to put mud all over it laugh.png! Ah, mud. Glorious mud.

Tell us, have you worked on your Commissars any more? Those Scions might get a bit footloose and fancy free if their CO isn't around barking at them. Well, more than likely they'll just stand there waiting for orders.

Alright, these are the things we need: more tank pictures, more Commissar pictures, and a few Scion snapshots. Especially Scions happy.png!

Keep up the great work thumbsup.gif!

- I need a whole set of new brushes I try anything too detailed and I'm too skint to get any at the moment   just gotta wait for my childhood collection to sell on eBay and I'll be back in the game :)

Your execution of the GW Cadian scheme is perfect, excellent colours and a fine tank :tu:

Cheers WF!

gallery_30308_9518_10657.png Reinforcements

the cadian 285th were sent to gamma-epsilon0182625 to deal with the heretical uprising. If there one thing the 285 hate more than anything it's those who turn their back to the imperium. Whilst staying on gamma-epsilon0182625 (aka kipta) they were joined by the local PDF force, although weak more guns are better than none...

Reinforcements were also sent the form of scions (still WIP but really liking the lense)

Decision time!!!!!

So I have the funds now to buy either a vendetta or the start collecting scions kit.

The question is what would everyone like to see?

I'll go with the most popular decision

Or I could go for 3 sentinels or a couple more russes, pretty more anything from £50-£70

Your tank scheme is really nice, would you be doing the same for the Vendetta? I'm assuming you'll be kit bashing the lascannons rather than the FW kit?

The Scion box is cool, good value and a data slate that helps them out nicely on the table top. A couple of Russ tanks would be great but given all the choices are good I'll have to go with Sentinels because aside from liking them a lot you've not done any yet ;)
