The Wrath - Khorne Daemonkin Project: Blood Letters Started

Recommended Posts

First WIP Log I have attempted. This army will start off small and will be used as one half of a Battle Brothers army. I am starting with a fistyclaws juggerlord, a unit of 8 bezerkers with a rhino, a unit of 8 bloodletters, a unit of 5 possessed and a soulgrinder. There is also a Daemon Prince and what is now a 'mini' Bloodthirster of Unfettered Fury (old metal model) these are for the Blood Tithe table. Apologies for the blurry images I will take better ones as we go along.

Comments welcome as always

Possessed assembled. I've used the Gal Vorbak as I love these models. Some of them have retained their former legion livery but the Blood Thirster Arbra'Gax they now serve finds this amusing and a symbol of his power that even the fanatical sons of Lorgar can be bent to his will.

My next task is to get some paint on these models, starting with the Chaos Lord.

First of all, welcome to the wonderful world of bloodshed in the name of Khorne! :)

Excellent work on those Bloodwarrior-based 'zerkers, and special kudos for going through the trouble of replacing the feet! This also seems to have made the models rather huge, which is definitely a plus in my book. One small nitpick, though: While most of the models (and poses) came out looking absolutely awesome, one or two of the guys seem strangely pidgeon-toed (probably due to the surgery that replaced their feet). The models I am referring to are the single guy in the last picture and the out-of-focus one on the left in the second-to-last picture. With a squad as amazing and characterful as this, I think you may want to tweak those two, as they are noticeably weaker than the rest.

But all in all, that's some fantastic work, and I'll be watching this project with interest!

Thanks for the comments guys,

@KrautScientist - They stand around head and shoulders taller than a normal space marine not including the base, I wanted them to look imposing so they are about the right size. As far as the feet on those two you pointed out go, I think it's just the way they are tacked together rest assured when they are finished I will make sure they don't look like that.

Got the Lord finished today and I've started a thread from completed models in the Hall of Honour. Managed to get the Bezerker's Rhino assembled today and work has started on the Bezerker Champion.

It's a GW red recipe used for the Captain Lorenzo tutorial in White Dwarf back when Space Hulk came out. Painting using layering techniques with thinned out paints. The current colours I use are:

Base 50/50 mix Doombull Brown & Chaos Black

Layer 50/50 mix Doombull Brown & Evil Sunz Scarlett

Layer 25/75 mix Doombull Brown & Evil Sunz Scarlett (usually three thin layers to get good coverage)

Layer Evil Sunz Scarlett (again about three thin layers)

Highlight Troll Slayer Orange

Edge Highlight 50/50 mix Troll Slayer Orange & Light Tau Ochre

Wash Carroburg Crimson

Re-Apply Edge Highlight.

Hope that helps

Here are the side by side comparison shots some of you were asking for:

Gal Vorback, Bezerker, Regular Marine

Bezerker with Regular Marine elevated so the feet are at the same level

@KrautScientist - Thanks for the kind words buddy!
