incinerator950
My Landlord has model trains and track kits and I have my Chaos Warband... mess, and X-Wing Imperial wing. I'm looking for recommendations and price ranges under $200, but realistically he's not that interested in anything over a $100. Any help? Bloody Legionnaire
At the 200 dollar mark you definitely have quite a few options for quality Airbushes/setups. I highly recommend taking a look at the Iwata HP-CS. I found mine on amazon for a helluva good price. Then see if you can pick up a compressor/moisture trap set up. A tank with the compressor would be most ideal but it's not necessary for what you guys will be doing. Kisada
I got a Badger Krome Renegade on amazon for like $80 and an air compressor from Harbor freight for like $30 on sale (has a 3 gal tank and works fine, as long as you don't mind it being loud ... how loud? Loud enough that I can't listen to podcasts from my phone's speakers while airbrushing and I can't use it at night when people are trying to sleep). madscuzzy
Do wait for the end of the year. Around the period from Thanksgiving to Xmas, Amazon tends to have sales concerning the mid-upper range airbrushes. Strength 10
Try an Iwata Neo or Revolution, or the Badger 105. They're all well regarded and reviewed and under $100 on Amazon. The Revolution is a bit more and I think you'll need to check if you want to a 0.3mm nozzle kit possibly, but I doubt it. p.s. for the compressor get a Masters one with a tank from TCP global. Having a tank is really important, and getting a bundle is good because it comes with all the bits of kits and doodads you need. Halandaar
I bought an Iwata Neo as my first airbrush and I find it really straightforward to use and clean, and availability of other parts seems good as well (I bought a different sized nozzle/needle for it a few months later). For the Compressor I went with the Iwata Silver Jet, which I appreciate when combined with the airbrush itself is outside the budget you've quoted, so I'm sure other have better recommendations there. Black_out
I bought a starter kit from ebay (tcp global iirc) that included a compressor with a tank and moisture trap and then just upgraded the brush itself after I saved up a bit more cash. The eBay brush held me over until I picked up a nicer one fwiw.
