Dhar'Neth
A simple question: Does Word bearers special Consul - Diabolist confers Preffered enemy (loyalist) to the close combat attack of a unit he joins? I always thought that only he has the rule (and thus is useless) but after re-reading core rules I'm not so sure. Slips
Yes. And preferred enemy (x) works for Shooting AND Melee. That said, if you're running Dark Brethren, all of your IC's get the rule anyways. Dhar'Neth
Excerpt from rules "The diabolist gains the daemon special rule and the preferred enemy (loyalists) is added to all their close combat attacks (in addition to any other weapon effects)" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/324959-does-diabolist-grant-preffered-enemy-loyalist-to-the-unit/#findComment-4474100 Share on other sites
Slips
Hmm, yeah might just work for their CC Attacks with the Diabolist then. But, if you're rolling Dark Brethren, all your IC's gain PE(L) that applies to shooting and CC. Dhar'Neth
I prefer other ROWs. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/324959-does-diabolist-grant-preffered-enemy-loyalist-to-the-unit/#findComment-4474431 Share on other sites
Memento Of Prospero
No, he does not transfer the rule, because he doesnt have it himself. The rule is applied to his melee attack. It's a case of "as if" conditioning. Memento Of Prospero
I think it was worded this way deliberately to limit the availability of free buffs. No one gets that kind of stuff outside of special characters Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/324959-does-diabolist-grant-preffered-enemy-loyalist-to-the-unit/#findComment-4481047 Share on other sites
Ishagu
Strange wording, but if his cc attacks have preferred enemy then that does indeed confer... IronDrake28
It specifically says it's added to his close combat attacks, and ia probably intended to do only that. RAW it seems it would confer though. :/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/324959-does-diabolist-grant-preffered-enemy-loyalist-to-the-unit/#findComment-4481981 Share on other sites
