Hints at the SW/ TS RoW/ rules on FW site...

I hope FW provides a lot more nuance than "Space Wolves are the bestest"

You wanna see "bestest", try stomaching any novel with AL as the protagonist. Or SW's as the protagonist and AL as the anti.

Don't you think part of the AL problem for an author is they have some old fluff and vague mist filled background that has them pulling outrageous stunts that at the time were no doubt based on myths and legends of the SAS? Plus being written in the 'good old days' meant that a lot of things were published in WD or a codex without the expectation of being forensically examined 30 years later. At least they don't just use 'magic' like the Tsons to get over difficult plot problems ;)

I'm not sure I understand why people keep saying the VIth will most likely get a special Runepriest consul; what's so different from a librarian, appart for the name? A Wolfpriest, on the other hand, being part chaplain, part apoth/primus would make far more sense in my opinion...

Because Runepriests are offended by the idea that they draw upon the powers of the warp like Librarians and not some other mystical power source. Which is the same reason they feel they don't have to follow the Edict of Nikaea. Special snow flakes and all that. tongue.png

The text bit in the sales blurb is old.

Sounds like Wolves will be drop pod infantry. Good for getting massacred in a game where almost every eeapon is geared to killing marines.

Basically 30k Blackmanes. Destroyers kinda cool if FW redress the points issues with them. I'd see them as a harassing force. Destroyers too weak to be a main unit.

Hoping terminator guard for Russ as mentioned in ATS.

Will they make new destroyer kits?.

Its single piece body kits just now if I recall.

Hopefully get other decent row and not get too boned considering our unuque consul is likely a rune priest (going up against a psyker heavy army).

Hoping for widespread use of storm shields as their use is mentioned a lot, as is passing reference to use of assault cannons in PB.

Oh and no need to worry about Bjorn.

He is not worthy enough to get a model or rules in Inferno.

Even if some no-mark random librarian who becomes Garro's sidekick is.

I think you've misunderstood the Bjorn thing. He's not in the Prospero book, because at the time of Prospero he wasn't anything more than a rank and file legionary in the Vlka Fenryka. It's afterwards that he becomes a major player in the Rout. I fully expect him to get rules in the future, just not in the Prospero book.

Me, WLK or Leif? :D

If I am wrong I will admit it.

I can't complaon about things I do not know. And not complaining observing.

Bjorn was not a first captain or such-loke but his star was in the ascendancy and he was someone Russ sought outfor counsel.

He was also a pack leader at least.

When FW use economics as an excuse to delay Inferno. Then economically speaking Bjorn would be a no brainer. He is literallya golden egg.

Btw what rank doe Exodus hold.

Why is Rubio such a special snowflake that he deserves rules and a model considering he is just a BL crwation?

At what point in the heresy will the Wplves re-appear to do anything signifant enough too warrant inclusion in another book?

FW have buried Bjorn.

Considering there's a battle late in the Heresy on the current timeline as of July 2016 called the 'Wolf Cull' (Yarant?) and the Wolves also fight against the Alpha Legion (Alaxxes), I'd say they will be involved in more battles in the FW series without a doubt, and that's discounting the possibility of any 'Conquest' style books with minor battles/subtle ramifications that we are not aware of.

FW's justification for delaying Inferno is based on the sheer number of books & preparation they need given the hype. It has nothing to do with them being worried about it not selling well - quite the opposite - and Bjorn's inclusion would not change a thing. I've never asked any of their staff about Prospero but I imagine he'll turn up when he's of more importance. And I'm not sure how you can complain about Rubio getting rules/a model when he isn't competing with Bjoprn for space in the HH series. That's like me complaining that Falkus Kibre didn't get a model/rules because Crysos Morturg got rules.

Alaaxes could have gone into Inferno instead of SoH/ knight/ legio Mortis fictional nonsense.

Not aware FW are covering Yarant.

FW said Inferno bypassed because for every 1 person interezted on Wolves there were 2 who were not decision was economics.

Using Rubio & Exodus as examples of non-established characters with virtually nothing known about yhem getting special character status and/ or models when other more established characters are likely getting zip.

Not that they are fighting for the same space.

Hey, could we try and make this not go down the same route that every other 30k SW discussion goes down? Can we show some consideration for TS fans who might not want to have things dragged down by the exact same one-note back and forth of 'wolves suck and are favourites' vs. 'no, wolves are great and are persecuted'?

On topic, Charlo and Leif have pointed out that these are pretty much exactly the same as the first paragraph or two of the IA-style articles in the FW books. I agree for the SW one but the TS one seems a little different. It's shorter than the others and sort of... vague and cursory. None of them are massively deep but it seems less like a flavourful intro.

Dantay:

  1.  Wait until it comes out before calling it nonsense
  2. You are now
  3.  If that is the case, the inclusion of Bjorn would not suddenly change it
  4. They do not occupy the same space, and thus do not consume the same resources. The Alpha Legion did not have a wide selection of established important characters to draw upon, and Rubio was included because he fit the theme of Book 6. As for who gets models, unless a character is of pivotal importance whether they are designed or not is up to the whim of the sculptor.

I apologise if it came off that way, that was certainly not my intention. In any case Dantay's opinion appears to be set in stone and I'll leave him to it

Actually a thought ive been having about the tsons (several actually) is maybe they have a sorcerer elite section much akin to apothecaries (so 1-3 for the slot, 1 wound each) but limited to ml1 (so pretty much one discipline each), limited war gear and can be attached to certain squads

Found this on Dakkadakka, apparently from tg:

Yeah this seems to be from the rumored Horus Heresy game. Sad Panda told it will be Sons vs Wolves and (now hold your hats) Custodians along with Sisters of Silence: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/listByUser/92272.page;jsessionid=542722CA13BC1D39BB399A6E0E7C6B19

Common guys, stop with the FW needed more time for Inferno nonsense, we all should know by now this was utter bull. GW knsisted FW hold it back so they could use the Fenris part two release as a tie-in to spruce up sales of each release.

Hell, bynow I wouldn't even be surprised to see his rules come out inthat book as a way to massively increase the demand for the FW model...

Hey, holding something back to perfect it isn't a bad thing :P

Rune Priest rely upon runes to cast psychic powers - this forms somewhat of a barrier between the warp and in theory should be a bit safer... Think Farseer and ghost helm. In regards to what occurred at the CoN I see it has hypocritical and was even portrayed as such in the BL novel.

I guess this is the price to be paid to be the most loyal legion

Remind me dear brother, where was your Legion during the Siege of Terra? msn-wink.gif

The fluff is changing every 5 minutes. Everything written that we know could turn out very different in all actuality. We'll just have to wait and see :p
