Strata
http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2016/8/23/822441_sm-Over%20view.jpeg It would seem that i've finally settled on a heresy era force to begin work upon. The servos and logica circuits call out the formation of a new Taghmata force to join the war. Im still working on figuring out my over all paint scheme. I've gone ahead and.. volunteered one of the thallax to serve as a test bed for the force's appearance. At the moment, im not convinced if this is the way i wish to proceed, or if i'll attempt a different scheme idea, a halved, or quarted black and white. http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2016/8/23/822442_sm-Thallax%20test.jpeg http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2016/8/23/822444_sm-Thallax%20test.jpeg http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2016/8/23/822443_sm-Thallax%20test.jpeg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325069-taghmata-epsilon-ignatis/ Share on other sites
Strata
I would like to post a positive update, but, forces beyond my control, and for this i am blaiming Tzeench.. The Taghmata has stalled.. Hard. This afternoon i brought them out to my local store to show off, and do some painting. No biggie. I also bought one of the new battle cases to transport them around in, instead of the card board lid that i had them in up untill now. That was a mistake as it would turn out. My Castallax didn't fare to well, even with the foam being adjusted (removed and placed around each figure to secure it) Specificly for each 'bot. I have arms snapped off at joins, at the thin structure members. Legs broken though the structure, or snapped at an ankle. Darkfire cannons snapped in half. The bolter arm of the Thanatar broken off, thankfully only at the normal joint. Only the Thallax came out unscathed. Needless to say, i am not a happy magos at the moment. Phatsquirre1
Sorry to hear about the breakage, may the Omnissiah bless your automata in their refit, and your enginseers toil hard to bring glory to your forges. That said, I feel about the Castellax- those darn arms are too fragile at times. Sol_Invictus
Ouch... sorry to hear of your troubles. I hope you are able to repair the damage quickly. The case was one of the new GW ones? Strata
Thanks for the comments guys. Yeah, the case was the Battle figure case, the medium sized one. It's strange, i had everything layed in there with the foam around it, but it all snapped anyway. I've gotten ahold of GW, they said they can't do anything (which i was expecting.) And suggested i give Forgeworld a ring. I had to email them, since for what ever reason my cell phone wont make international calls now. I sent them a picture of the damage, and hopefully i'll hear back from them soon. Sol_Invictus
I'd push back at GW and say their case didn't do it's job. I've been looking at the Crusade case but now I'm thinking I might look elsewhere. Strata
I had gotten ahold of forgeworld and they are willing to replace the damages with an order number. Now here's the kicker, I call my father who bought these for me as a gift, Recasts. Now I'm thinking that may have contributed to the damages. Sol_Invictus
Darn that cheap Chinese crack... I hope you're able to repair everything and get back to painting soon. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325069-taghmata-epsilon-ignatis/#findComment-4479466 Share on other sites
Strata
The Thallax should be salvagable, Same with the Thanatar. The Castallax however.. im scratching my head on those ones. It may be more worthwhile for full replacement, as opposed to attempting to rehabilitate them. lionofjudah
I've repaired my castellax's spindly arms on several occasions- if you're brave pinvise the arm and replace the upper 'control arm' with a paper clip... Did that after my second GS/superglue rejoining exercise and it's handled tender treatment well since then. I use some old army transport pluck foam with my fiddly mechanicum doods as that's the only medium I've found for their semisafe relocation from the house to the LGS. Sorry to hear that the GW case isn't up to snuff for you:( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325069-taghmata-epsilon-ignatis/#findComment-4479923 Share on other sites
